2.2l premium gas?

i know this has been touched on but my car has been running really bad lately, so i decided to try premium gas and it feels like it works amazing.

does this make a lick of sense considering i drive a 2.2 ?

shouldnt make a difference at all, some people say you would actually have a power LOSS due to higher octane gas being ahrder to burn if ur car is not made for it. now u can tune for it and have timing advanced and yeild some HP but without a tune no.

im not tuned and i feel a differnce when i run 93 octane too. i usually run it all the time now cuz im sprayin and high octane is required for that.

you can get tuned for it as i am...and in fact i have always run it from day one...keeps the filter cleaner and burns just the same...keeps everything cleaner in fact and i noticed a GAIN in power while using it...

your wasting your money. your car is not setup to run higher octane (unless your tuned) you are actually losing power because detonation is not occurring at TDC (top dead center). Higher octane fuel is not "cleaner" it detonates at a different time.

If you want to notice a difference cuz your car feels sluggish, get a tune up and clean your engine (sea foam or an engine treatment. It will make all the difference.

The smoke is the carbon being burnt up and expelled.

its an engine treatment. It cleans the carbon build up.

any parts store should have it....bout 5 bucks a can here......yes it is worth it but it really depends on how old it is. I did this in my formula firebird and it worked great...cleaned out all the top end gunk through a vaccuum line, ran it trhough the gas tank to clean the injectors, and I ran it through the oil, but it is very potent so you should change your oil at the MAX of 100 miles of the seafoam being in your crankcase. plus its really cool to run down the highway blowng black cmoke yout the pipes from a really dirty engine.

really old engines can have problems due to oil build up holding the engine together.

I'd say every 50k miles would be about perfect.

its possible if doen wrong. You have to make sure to change your oil quickly, if you put it in the crank. also don't over do it in the vac line. try to get it out within 20mins because what happens is the seals on your piston ring start to get toooo loose. but its not like its going to happen instantaneously so no need to worry.

just be conservative and don't put 3 bottles into your engine; follow the directions, if you know what i mean.
