How long would that whole process take? My car's pretty important for me getting to work and whatnot lol

it shouldn't take more than a day. you'll be set up perfectly for when the tuning is available.

it's summer, haha, it'll be worth it. you'll love the sound after it's on.

it shouldn't blow your warranty, they'd have to prove that it messed up your motor, and i've never heard of an intake messing anything up. hell, my dealer ordered it for me.

you can't beat a free intake, and deals like this don't always come along. plus, you get to hang with the ppls from AEM, talk up the Cobalt, get them to make more stuff, haha.

Good luck! Ive said it before, I would offer my car to anyone who wants to make parts for it (short of tuning/warantee voiding parts). But there are no real manufacturers on the east coast / Raleigh, NC area.

forget that shit. TTR is already coming out with a 3" intake. AEM will make theirs about 2.5". free or not, i would def get a TTR intake

Your not going to notice a power difference with any intake so i would take the free one over a more expensive one. Not too mention meeting one of the most successful tuning companies in the world. <3 AEM FIC

The only benefit of a 3" if down the road you swap out all the piping, the cooler, the turbo, and the whole exhaust including dp, cat, etc...
Even then, prob wont feel it

TTR already said they made a huge difference in the power of the car. so, you can take that one up with them. thats great that they are a good tuning company, we are talking intakes not tuning.

wait til tuning is cracked for the TC

I come from a land of reality and this isnt a honda forum.
We all know your not gonna feel shit from just an intake come on now.
So in essence, I know an intake is not going to give me more then 2-3whp.
And since the car wont go past 260ft/lbs. After a day or too, your huge difference is gone.

There are 11 more SS Turbo's due for delivery in the SoCal region this week so there may be some new owners interested soon. All but one of them are black, by the way. As for an intake, unless the stock intake tract is super restrictive (which I doubt), a drop-in filter or keeping a fresh paper filter is probably the best bet (especially in California unless the intake is certified and has a CARB EO number). It's hard to tell without testing some things on a car, but I'm more than a little skeptical of some of the "test procedures" and dyno results by companies trying to sell you a product. It's too easy to manipulate results and with such small gains, if there are any, it's hard to tell whether they're from the aftermarket part or just within the margin of error. At least it's a free part from a decent company and you could make a few bucks if you decide to sell it later. :thumb:

We made an intake and found minimal gains on the dyno, all else stock. The factory system is made very well. I'm sure with more supporting mods it will be beneficial.
