RPD, Dash-Hawk, Interceptor gauges

So. I am really losing my cool and am thinking I can't wait any longer. I want to run out and ****** up an 08.

Problem is I really do want the RPD and USB radio. Anyone have any insights as to whether or not these will be plug n play for an 08. My engineering contacts within GM are incredibly busy and I don't want to bother them with personal stuff.

My other thought is getting the 08; throwing in a couple of interceptor gauges or the dash-hawk and hoping that the gauges will display the wideband o2.

I would much rather just wait for the 09, but it has been nearly two full years without a sporty car and I am losing my mind.

I wish I had a clue as to the specifics of the electronics. I'd assume that anything you can put on an '09 will be an easy install on an '08. They're the same model, the wiring harness has to be identical, they aren't changing ove rht eplant to go from '08 to '09

Out of curiosity, do you know anything more about the USBRadio than I do? Is it for iPod's? Is it for any USB storage device? Sorry, I know it's an aside, but you seem to have more inside knowledge than I do.

Seriously, you own one and yet you THINK there is a USB port...there isn't. You have an aux coaxial input jack.

It is for USB capable devices. It will integrate with your ipod or MP3 device. I don't think there is any storage in the unit and I have no idea as to whether or not it is capable with a flash drive.

Hey, he's too busy looking at the Hot Woman in the passenger seat...or "Mom" as he calls her, to notice whether or not it has a USB port (it doesn't).

Come to think of it, I remember one of the tech guys at my dealership telling me the radio is going to be identical in the '09 just with a USB port. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the radio will work in an '08 too. Seeing as the same speaker system is in them.

Yeah, it literally is the same thing with a USB port. I know there is more hardware in the radio to handle that jazz, but I think for cost purposes they wouldn't want to necessitate a wiring harness addition.

dropping a 09 radio in a 08 will be easy as pie same harness i bet...rpd looked cool 2 me when we 1st heard of it, but now i dunno looks kinda cheesy. But with a rpd from an 09 and the wires im sure it will mount rite in. so lemme get this straight there is no boost gauge in the 09's???? that sucks i love watching it.

RPD will not plug and play directly w/ the harness there for the boost gauge. There may be a way of doing it by finding other connectors to split off of to get the data channels you need.

no i agree, but if you channel the wires you need it will work, hell it will work in the s/c's its just a matter of finding and connecting the correct wires.

Oh, well of course.

I am going to go out on a limb and assume that, boiled down, it is simply an OBD2 scan gauge. These cars do have a true wideband o2 sensor, or at least word on the street is...

a few connections from the HS GMLAN connector will get the RPD ticking, will need different power wire too

Even if it's an easy switch I think you're better off waiting the couple weeks to get it all installed from the factory on your car. I got my order accepted, shouldn't be too long before it's preffered and I get a build date.

Yeah, I will wait...I better have it for the Woodward Dreamcruise, but then again; if it isn't delivered by then I will just get silly drunk.

This car does have a WB02 sensor, and the Aeroforce Interceptor Scan Gages do work with it.
