New SS/TC

Hey so my brother just got a cobalt turbocharged. It looks amazing rides great and drives even better. But When I got on it it feels like my 2.4l SS pulls harder then it does.. I think its faster put it doesnt put u back in ur seat when you get on it... Do other people agree here? or may there be something wrong? idk

if you have to think the TC is faster than your 2.4 that can only mean 2 things

1. something is wrong with the TC

2. You are crazy

x2, but what alot of people dont realize, you gotta really get on the SS/TC for you to make some power. You cant just ease into the throttle and expect to take off, you gotta do the work. I know my Wife took off yesterday, got into 2nd real good, and into 3rd and we were going 80 in no time. I know its not fast like my Mustang, but its fast enough and will be getting faster.

Honestly, your mustang is probably a smidge faster....You don't feel like your cobalt is going faster because you have rwd and gobs of tq down low in the stang and thats just not fwd 4bangers (srt4 exception haha). I raced my friends g8 gt and put an easy 2 car lenghts on him. But when I get in that car, it feels 10 times faster than my cobalt because it has more of the push you back into the seat feeling...and traction haha

LOL, dude my Mustang is putting down 300rwhp and 330lbs/tq roughly and runs 12's in the 1/4 mile. Its faster. My Wife couldnt keep up at all when we were messing around a couple days ago, once I get into 2nd and shift to 3rd she is a good 5-6 cars back. I dont think a low 13 to high 12 second car is just a smidge faster than a low 14 to high 13 second car, thats a full second, big difference when it comes to racing.

Get it into 2nd and mash it, you will be thrown into your seat, I've already done it a few times.

What 60 foot times can you cut with your stang? What 60 times can you cut with your cobalt? Exactly. Times are GREATLY effected by launches

Low 2's, like 2.05-2.10. I know the 60ft time means everything, so when I can cut a 60ft time .4-.5 better, how is the Stang still just a smidge faster? I'm not trying to argue, but I know what my cars can do and I know the Stang will beat the Cobalt with ease.

It might possibly be. I know Hahn was hitting 20-21psi with theirs, but I'm not sure how many miles is on it. I only have 200 miles on mine and have hit 16 at the most.

I'm just trying to say, if your ss were to pull 60's like that, it would not be that much slower...I should've been more clear...I was talking more overall power to weight than racing from digs

Going by power, yeah sure the Cobalt wouldnt be too far back if I could launch and hook like I can in the Mustang. Look at Hahn too, over 280whp with just the exhaust and tune, and that's why they ran a 13.2.

Yeah tell me about it, and the clutches are totally different. And since I've gotten the car on Thursday, I've been switching it up each day. Drove the SS/TC Thursday, drove the Mustang Friday, the SS/TC Saturday and I'm driving the Mustang today.

lol I haven't driven a rwd performance car yet....But I plan to keep it that way for as long as I own a fwd because I know i'll be very disapointed going back to fwd and possibly go into debt from buying a rwd v8

Its not gonna suck you in like that, well maybe I'm saying that because I've been driving RWD v8 cars since I was like 16. I had an 01 Mustang GT, but traded it in for the Cobalt, so now I have best of both worlds.

I'm going to try and get it done by the end of this week actually...key word try haha

But yeah, I hope to eventually buy a used 6.0 goat...when that day will come who knows but that's my dream car

I heard anywhere from 15-17....But it also depends on your elevation because GM has that thing where you will supposedly always have 260hp and the power is compensated by boost pressures...at least I think that's how it's done

I can agree with some of the above. This car doesn't pull like I thought a 260 ft-lbs FWD car would. It is incredibly linear and very mundane.

I had a 3L swapped Ford Contour. Put down about 190 ft lbs of torque and it torque steered like hell, and this was with a Quaife LSD.

To be honest, the above car felt faster than the SS. This is not the case though, somehow the SS doesn't feel all that fast, but it is. Hell, my dad's 06 Accord with V6 felt faster, but I know it isn't

This car is scary fast because you don't even notice the speed. I was going very fast on my test drive, and didn't realize til I checked the speedo.
