Wot box? Never heard of it.... ;)
phrozen 07-28-2008, 09:33 AM Wot box? Never heard of it.... ;)
Very nice. That's like the VW GTi install I did last night. Once we put everything back together, you couldn't see any trace of the WOT Box anywhere!
will this work for the 2.2 cobalts cause i could really use this ?
Yes, we're ready for the 2.2s now!
Cyclone 07-28-2008, 10:05 AM So has this or will this throw codes for miss fire cutting timing etc.
hatrickstu 07-28-2008, 10:10 AM mine has not
phrozen 07-28-2008, 10:10 AM So has this or will this throw codes for miss fire cutting timing etc.
Not that we've seen so far. I'll let everyone else who has them respond. There are a lot of them out there now...
Area47 07-28-2008, 10:32 AM you stay on the two step too long, or too many times in a row. it will throw a p0300.
i've yet to see any codes
csementuh 07-28-2008, 10:59 AM Have all 20 at the reduced price been ordered? Or is this still available..?
phrozen 07-28-2008, 11:01 AM Have all 20 at the reduced price been ordered? Or is this still available..?
The WOT Box is still available at the prices in the first post. We're holding them solid for the time being. We are out of stock right now, but there are 250 more on the way in just a few more days... Place your order now and you'll be in the first batch that goes out after we get the new ones in....
hungryhip-ccp 07-28-2008, 03:03 PM no codes for me either... although i was worried about it so i disabled p0300... via HPT
IonNinja 07-28-2008, 03:37 PM Yes, we're ready for the 2.2s now!
whats the difference between this setup and your current ones for 07+s?
install instructions?

The yellow wire is going to be tapped into one of the fuel injector control signals instead of the ignition control signal. Instructions are coming...
06blackg85ss 07-28-2008, 04:07 PM Yay found a clutch, hopefully have some track vids up soon.
Area47 07-28-2008, 04:09 PM this just in. wot box with nls will cause people in cars behind you to drop cell phones when the car farts at loud volumes
:D
hungryhip-ccp 07-28-2008, 05:32 PM bahhahahaha
this just in dont do it in front of two guys on harleys :nono: :cussing:
almost got my ass drug out the car and beat down
Area47 07-28-2008, 05:48 PM lol! i was racing a friends turbo lexus saturday when i hammered a gear, some other friends were in a trailing car. the one in the back seat dropped the cell phone
06blackg85ss 07-28-2008, 05:59 PM lol yeah I almost killed some poor dude friday night, he got scared and slammed on the brakes lol. shit is rediculously loud I swear.
hungryhip-ccp 07-29-2008, 02:58 AM i seriously compare it to a shot gun blast... i get em that loud
stryder 07-29-2008, 03:10 AM i seriously compare it to a shot gun blast... i get em that loud
so how you liking the new tune?
hungryhip-ccp 07-29-2008, 03:48 AM loving it... but i still get a p0172 cel :thumbsdow
im hoping you can help me delete the code... since i know my tune is fine its just at light light cruise say 70 on the freeway with cruise control on the long term fuel trims hit -20 and it throws the system too rich code...
i cant stand having a cel on a new car drives me nuts...
so at the august meet i was gonna see if you would delete it and i'll shoot you a $20 for your gas tank or something (fuckin gas prices :cussing:)
driving around town daily it wont throw the code its only at -7 ltft
so its gotta be the lower maf or something... gas milage is fine though im seeing 32-38 on hwy
the trims are off in the lower vaccum say -10 in/hg and lower and the fuel trims are maxxed out...
06cobalt racer 07-29-2008, 08:00 AM add one more to the list. just bought mine.

Really soon... They shipped from the factory yesterday. We should have them tomorrow. We just need to do the final assembly, programming, testing and packaging. So, if things go well, we should start shipping again by the end of the week. If not, early next week.
hatrickstu 07-29-2008, 12:07 PM phrozen my new box is still alive and kicking, just FYI
Blown 4-banger 07-29-2008, 12:24 PM We require video proof :thumbsdow

jay@n2mb 07-31-2008, 01:53 PM the first one is without the wotbox, i can hear the clutch slipping out without alot of rpm drop or the clutch needed a little heat in it
i really couldnt tell but it sounded like the 2nd and 3rd were on auto and there was a big rpm drop
the 4th sounds about somewhere near 175-200ms
the last one sounds like somewhere around 75 ms
judging by the movement of the clouds and the weather report for your area in the past couple days with normal winds the timeframe you filmed this in was very narrow.the clutch may have needed some cooldown time between runs and runs 2-5 would have burnt a little more rubber :)
06blackg85ss 07-31-2008, 07:22 PM damnit I'd post some vids but my car is out of action, clutch just arrived yesterday, install on the 16th hopefully. Vids and track time a week or so after that. After being at E-town saturday for pinks all out, I can't wait to get my car back on the track.
oh and your box worked pretty damn good in my friends srt last weekend. Finally got it adjusted for him for the second run, too bad they wouldn't give him his times.

ill post up which each ones were, you are a little off ;)
also, there was no clutch slippage in any of these, the road is not really a great road and the tires were not making much noise on initial hit in 2nd. they broke lose every time so the "clutch slip" you hear is actually the tires spinning for a split second
1st- off the box, felt like the best to me
2nd- 25ms
3rd- 75ms
4th- 200ms, seemed slow as hell
5th- 50ms
6th- 125ms
imo the more "tirespin" is not indicative of a great shift or not for the most part.
ItalianJoe1 07-31-2008, 08:14 PM I got an e-mail saying that mine will be shipped :) I'm happy

im gonna have to disagree with you here! numerous people have felt your clutch was slipping but your blind to the fact that it is... the first one was pretty bad that was with no box thats why i feel this is a great product it helps eleminate clutch slip, and its not the clutch that the weak point its the pressure plate is not strong enough... when ever someone replaces there clutch cause there upgrading, the clutch looks brand spanking new but wont hold? cause its a weak pressure plate not a gone/weak clutch...
the last one was the best... your right tire spin dosent equal speed
but it does equall power being put to the ground which equals faster times at the track were the tires actually will hook (or when better tires are put on like DR or slicks)
gotta get over the whole clutch slip thing before you will realize a upgraded clutch alone will probably drop your et's by a few tenths... all of this is just my opinion not trying to argue...

im not going to argue about it, and im not "blind to the fact"
i think you and i can both agree that you get way more feedback in a car than you do watching videos. correct? the clutch hits hard on all these, and i do feel that the regular speed shifting method is quicker. just my opinion though. i too have been wondering which would actually be easier on the clutch
Rodimus_Prime 07-31-2008, 10:10 PM does this thing log your reponse times? how you getting those ms values?

its cool bro, you know what you are talking about and i know that. im just telling you the video is decieving as far as tire spin goes

vids are great but nothing is better than raw data.i love video because it helps confirm what you see in logs.we have to get a car setup with an in car camera.thank you for taking the time to put up those vids though we very much appreciate it!
black06ss 08-01-2008, 11:40 AM one thing i know for sure is when i use the no lift shift i have gotten little to no slip on my clutch and my clutch slips pretty hard on the 1 2

i feel like an ass for assuming and calling you out when like you said im not there or in the car... sorry stu... i just know my car sure as hell slips the clutch on the 1-2 without the box! so my bad for assuming your was as well :)

No. We still cut ignition, but we use the fuel injector control signal for timing reference. It works the same, just a slightly different software load. I am working on combining them so we can run the same code on both wiring setups.

I'm waitin on my MAF sensor to come in so my car won't be running lean anymore. It'll be here saturday, so the box will go on after I finish all the other.
hungryhip-ccp 08-08-2008, 04:47 AM yeah i've resorted to turning mine off... interfears with my driving style... i love blowing out eardrums of civic owners though... actually anyone i catch with there window down was getting drive by shot gun blasts the first week i had it... now im ready to sell it... but like area said its a cool little novalty item, so who knows probably just leave it on for when i go turbo... the s/c just blows the tires off... like so...

I'm kind of at that same point. i don't really use it that often. (and i don't get the fun sounds because i'm still stock :( no shot gun blast for me)
i figure it'll just sit there for awhile. doesn't hurt anything, so why bother removing it
CobaltLT 08-08-2008, 12:00 PM I just bought both...so the software should support the 2.2 as stated earlier, correct?
phrozen 08-08-2008, 02:10 PM I just bought both...so the software should support the 2.2 as stated earlier, correct?
Yes. email me your car year/ model / engine and I'll double check the wires. I started going over all the years of the cobalt to post on the site, but I didn't finish it.
It will work regardless, I just want to make sure I tell you the right pin numbers and wire colors.

I looked them up and they are the same. Same pinout and same wire colors. :twothumbs
I'll be updating the directions for the 2.2s. There are minor changes for some of them.
rockSTAR_SS 08-09-2008, 10:53 PM Got mine put on today and I must say I love it. Thanks for an awesome product, phrozen! keep the new products coming. Highly recommend this vendor folks!
dw2b22 08-11-2008, 09:10 PM Has anyone put this on a redline yet? I have to wait awhile in the middle of a rebuild. I was wondering if there is any difference I have got an 04. I already have the box just waiting to install after the rebuild.
phrozen 08-11-2008, 09:13 PM The wiring should be the same from what I've looked at.
06cobalt racer 08-11-2008, 09:51 PM i got mine the other day, cant wait to install it!! thanks again.
hawlyns711 08-12-2008, 12:06 AM I did it on my 04 redline. All the wires were the same except for one, but they explained in the directions it was the one at the top right of the ignition harness, which was a different color (orange w/black stripe) but the correct one. all the rest were the same.
Dead Zen 08-12-2008, 12:15 AM wow. i really want, saw it on powerz car and was just amazing. actually scared the shit outta me as i was following him and there was a shotgun blast and flamage from his car due t the no lift.
hawlyns711 08-12-2008, 04:07 PM I threw code p2138 after installing this...anybody know what to do? Car still runs fine...

P2138
DTC P2138
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The accelerator pedal position (APP) sensors 1 and 2 are located within the accelerator pedal assembly. Each sensor has the following circuits:
* A 5-volt reference circuit
* A low reference circuit
* A signal circuit
This provides the engine control module (ECM) with a signal voltage proportional to accelerator pedal movement. The APP sensor 1 signal voltage at rest position is near the low reference and increases as the pedal is actuated. The APP sensor 2 signal voltage at rest position is near the 5-volt reference and decreases as the pedal is actuated.
DTC DESCRIPTOR
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P2138 Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
* The battery voltage is more than 5.23 volts .
* DTCs P0641, P0651, P2120, P2125 are not set.
* The accelerator pedal is leaving the idle position.
* DTC P2138 runs continuously when the above conditions are met.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
* The voltage difference between APP sensor 1 and APP sensor 2 exceeds a predetermined value.
* The above condition is met for more than 2 seconds .
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
* The control module illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) when the diagnostic runs and fails.
* The control module records the operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. The control module stores this information in the Freeze Frame and/or the Failure Records.
* The control module commands the TAC system to operate in the Reduced Engine Power mode.
* A message center or an indicator displays Reduced Engine Power.
* Under certain conditions the control module commands the engine OFF.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
* The ECM turns OFF the MIL after 3 consecutive drive trips that the diagnostic runs and does not fail.
* A History DTC clears after 40 consecutive warm up cycles in which no failures are reported by this diagnostic or any other emission related diagnostic.
* The scan tool clears the MIL/DTC.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
* The ECM compares the signal of each of the APP sensor to each other throughout the entire range of operation. Clear the DTCs and actuate the pedal through the entire range with the ignition ON and the engine OFF.
* Use the J 35616 Connector Test Adapter Kit for any test that requires probing the ECM harness connector or a component harness connector. Using this kit will prevent damage to the harness connector terminals.
* For intermittent conditions, refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections. See: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview\Diagnostic Strategies\Intermittent Conditions
TEST DESCRIPTION
Steps 1 - 8
The number below refers to the step number on the diagnostic table.
2. Any circuit faults on either APP sensor 1 or 2 will set one of the DTCs listed. Refer to the appropriate table for diagnosis.
hawlyns711 08-12-2008, 04:39 PM ^^thanks. i didn't hit limp mode though. i just cleared it and i'll worry about it if it comes back again.

Sounds like you shorted out the APP sensor, or ran the car with it unplugged? Does the WOT Box work correctly?
You may want to go back and recheck the connection you made to the APP sensor wire to make sure it is solid and not shorting out by poking through the insulation. It is a redundant system, but we don't want to loose that redundancy.

rockSTAR_SS 08-22-2008, 01:53 AM No clutch failure for me, just hard barking into second and third gears :)
Also, is anyone else getting the P0135 code from this box? I'm getting it, not real sure why...
hungryhip-ccp 08-22-2008, 06:21 AM no codes here although p0300 was checked off via HPT

P0135 Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit ...
Sounds like an unrelated code. Try clearing the code and then driving around for a few days without using the WOT Box (don't WOT shift and don't 2-step launch). See if the code comes back on its own. If it does, then the problem is unrelated.
rockSTAR_SS 08-22-2008, 09:14 AM Will do :twothumbs
I've deleted it twice already, the last time being around Monday I do believe. Ive used the box since then, so I'll keep an eye out for it. I just replaced the upstream o2 sensor so the car may not like having an aftermarket sensor.

Hey, sorry about the super long delay. We've been swamped with orders and we're struggling to keep the WOT Box in stock!
Here are three software loads for you to try out.
1500 RPM lock out (stock):
http://www.n2mb.com/wot_box_GEN_1500_LO_DUAL_2.4.EXE
http://www.n2mb.com/wot_box_GEN_1500_LO_SINGLE_2.4.EXE
2000 RPM lock out:
http://www.n2mb.com/wot_box_GEN_2000_LO_DUAL_2.4.EXE
http://www.n2mb.com/wot_box_GEN_2000_LO_SINGLE_2.4.EXE
2500 RPM lock out:
http://www.n2mb.com/wot_box_GEN_2500_LO_DUAL_2.4.EXE

Let me know how that goes. Start with the lowest one. You want to make sure it is still able to keep you from accidentally engaging the 2-step while you are moving.
Also, make sure you really get on the gas quick when you want to 2-step so that it doesn't have time to rev much before you get to WOT. That was the original problem, right? Your motor revs so fast with no load that it is above 1500 RPM before you can get to WOT?
If you need the instructions for the upgrade, check them out here:

hungryhip-ccp 08-24-2008, 06:14 PM thank you sir very much appreciated...
MarqueDo7BabyBalt 08-30-2008, 09:43 AM Ok i am interested and ready to buy jut wondering do you guys have them in yet thanx.
06blackg85ss 08-30-2008, 09:59 AM going back up to the 2500 rpm one, 1500 one was fuckin me up at the track, engine takes so long to get back under 1500 rpm if you rev'd it (like waiting for some idiot to stage with his rear wheels lol) by the time it comes back down low enough, lights already green
Try2k 08-30-2008, 02:28 PM Interested in no lift shift box... How do I order?
04redline0124 09-10-2008, 06:54 PM interested in this wot box for my redline where do i order it for the wot shjift and 2 step option??
and one question thoe....if the 2 step is set low enough will it activate during daily driving or only when the gas pedal is firmly pressed in at idle??
thanks im interested now!!!
hungryhip-ccp 09-10-2008, 07:06 PM it wont activate during daily driving... not with the 1500 rpm limit and then use the 2500 for the track

wut do u mean the 1500 rpm limit???? what im sayin is does it only activate once u floor the gas pedal??? or does it just start when it reaches that rpm??? cuz if not ill jsut keep it at 2500 rpm the whole time lol
and where do i order one for my redline??? i dont want to order the wrong thing haha..cuz i dunno if the cobalt and redline have different wiring or such

The 1500 limit is for engaging the 2-step. It doesn't allow the 2-step to engage if the engine is above 1500 rpm before you go to WOT. That prevents it from kicking on the highway. There is also a 2500 rpm lockout for some that prefer it.
our website is http://www.n2mb.com/wotbox when you are ready to check out.,
let me know if you have any more questions.

bro you have to be at wot before hitting 1500 for it to activate... ie. so if you roll on the throttle it wont activate... if you just stab the gas from idle it will...
Everyone needs to read the warning clearly. NOT FOR USE WITH EXHAUST THAT HAVE A CAT!!
I blew mine out in about 2 months.
Took the WOT box off, took car to dealer, they replaced CAT, WOT box stays off until I'm catless now.
hungryhip-ccp 09-25-2008, 07:12 PM bro you would of had to be 2-stepping everywhere you went... i think that would be considered mis-use

bro you would of had to be 2-stepping everywhere you went... i think that would be considered mis-use
actually no, i rarely used it. I got bored after the first week and a half and only used the WOT shift part of the box. in that two months time, used it probably.... 11, 12 times tops.
hungryhip-ccp 09-25-2008, 08:38 PM well you do know are cats are prone to failure
No problems whatsoever with my WOT box. I love it! I have a magnaflow cat - still works great.
well yea. i'm not saying anything bad about the WOT box. just for people to be aware that they're not kidding when they say, not for cat use.

The list isn't posted on our site.:wtf:
We need to update the site. I am hiring someone in the next few days to take that stuff over. Basically, the list is huge already and we're adding more everyday.
So far:
SRT4
EVO
WRX
All the Cobalts, Redlines
Pontiac Solstice
Nissan 350Z / Infinity G35
Mazdaspeed 3 / Mazdaspeed 6
Mazda 3
All the VW and Audi 1.8T, 2.0T, 2.7T, VR6 cars (we've tested dozens of varieties of these)
Scion tC
Mustang Cobra
and there's probably more I'm forgetting, plus more we are just waiting on testing results from.
Plus, we support all those cars with the exact same hardware. The only difference is software and it can be loaded by the end user. So, our dealers can buy the same WOT Box for all those cars and flash it for their customers right before it ships out. That makes it easy for them.
Anyway, have the shop email us at sales@n2mb.com and we'll pass along our dealer price sheets to them.
Thanks!

Gotta question tho. I'm not going back and reading all the pages of posts, so here it is...
How do I set the WOT box to shoot flames when I rev up from an idle? There's a flame throwing contest at Cruisin the Coast this weekend and I wanna give it a go... lol just for fun.

Hi, sorry I missed your post. Emailing sales@n2mb.com is usually faster than posting.
Yes, you can use a Mac, as long as you are able to run Windows on your Mac either through boot camp or Parallels. I have confirmed that that works.
The windows interface is finally becoming a reality. I am nearing completion on that. We will have a new single flash firmware that works on all cars, plus windows software that allows you to change all the settings on the box.
You can also change the no-lift shift time and 2-step RPM from the unit itself. See here:
http://www.n2mb.com/wotboxusersguide
More details about the Windows software will be posted once we have a beta load ready...

that way it doesent backfire when i shift or get in the way of my driving style... unless wanted :)
the way it is right now is everytime you turn the car on the box is on...
and if i dont want it on for daily driving (which i prefer) then i have to turn it off everyttime i get in the car and go some where.

that does'nt answer my question! but in reply to your comment yes it is activating under "normal driving cond" i dont know but iirc then its like 5v the the box has to see to detect throttle percentage to activate the box... the problem is on our cobalts i can activate the wot box at approx 50-60% throttle so under "normal driving conditions" like entering a freeway on ramp or just "getting on it" and it is possible to activate it...
So, is there anything you can do as far as it being off unless wanted?

Oh, then you need to adjust the TPS threshold so that it is higher up. It should be like 80-85% throttle.
I'm working on a new software release now that will allow you to adjust the TPS threshold, and everything else that you can imagine from a new Windows interface. I'll post up when I have a beta that you can try out. Hopefully, it will happen this weekend sometime.

i changed both clutch switches. tested it. same thing. reprogrammed the box itself. BAM works again. my guess is every 2 months you would want to load the settings back into the box itself and reset your settings so to speak.

meh, possibly.
i'm a bit unsure as to how EXACTLY the wot box controls the signals, so i cant say for-sure.
with the plug coil's being a far bit more advanced then an injector coil, its possible.

my thought exactly... i'll sit down and think about it... wait now that i think of it there is a model that the box kills fuel not spark i'll have to check the site...
and i belive the nbm2 makers were going to kill injector pulse on the 2.2 cause it doesent have ind coil packs...
im sure its just matter of switchen some wire around which i might begin experimenting with this weekend as the turbo and manifold will be off to install a pyro

It's spark cut. It wouldn't be cost effective or worth wild to cut spark and fuel.

USMCFieldMP 01-30-2009, 06:11 PM It's spark cut. It wouldn't be cost effective or worth wild to cut spark and fuel.
Well, on the SRT-4's... I'm pretty sure that they cut fuel and spark. If you watch the video's on their site... they've got an SRT-4 that is doing Fuel Cut, not spark cut.
See:
I need to fix that. On the SRT-4s we cut spark and fuel. On everything else we've been cutting only spark.
Yeah, we only support coil-on-plug ignition cars at the moment, but I have something else in the works... I'll post up on it if it works in about a week.
This is why I asked. I'm pretty sure He had mentioned something about cutting fuel on the Cobalts as well.

hungryhip-ccp 02-16-2009, 10:16 PM hello?
phrozen 02-16-2009, 10:26 PM Sorry, I missed the notification. What is your question?
ah, went back and read the thread. Yes, we have a beta out that is nearly ready for release. There was some delay in getting the 2-step tuned up on cars that use the fuel injector or ignition coil for RPM input. The current version of the software has a bit of overshoot on the 2-step due to the default values.
I am going to make a new version where the defaults are set correctly. hold on..

phrozen 02-16-2009, 10:35 PM so is it fuel or ignition cut now?
Still ignition cut. We are doing ignition cut only on all of our new cars now. We have heard from a number of people who have tried limiters that use fuel cut vs. ignition cut and the ignition cut works better.
We still do fuel and ignition cut on the SRT for legacy reasons. We started like that, and it seems to work a bit better like that on the SRT. There are positives and negatives to both setups on the SRT and we try to explain them to people who ask.
However, what is now is that the new software supports getting an RPM signal from a fuel injector or a coil-on-plug ignition signal, which has allowed us to install the WOT Box on just about everything we have tried. You can also configure the number of cylinders and the clutch and tps polarity, so it is really a universal mod now.

phrozen 02-16-2009, 11:22 PM what about the issue of the box freaking out every 2 months and having to reload the current exe file into it to regain use of it again?
That is really strange. I have never heard of that problem before now. The memory on the WOT Box is rated for 10 years minimum retention, so I don't know where that would come from.
Well, for starters, try the latest software version:
http://www.n2mb.com/wotboxbetasoftware
If it happens with that software, then I will track down the bug. There isn't much reason to track down the bug in the old software. The new software is a complete rewrite, so there is a good chance that it might be fixed anyway.
If you have any feedback about the new software, let me know.
If someone can give me a quick confirmation that it works on your car, then I will make a new thread in our section detailing the new software release.
Lastly, I appologize for not getting on this forum lately. I missed the messages, probably when I was out of the country. If you ever have any questions that aren't being answered here, the best thing to do is email us at support@n2mb.com. We have several people reading that address, so even when one of us is away, it will get read and hopefully responded to!

Ok, let me know how the new software goes. If you run into it again, email us at support@n2mb.com and we'll try a few things. It may be a bug in our older software. Do you know what version you were running before this? Was it 2.5? Or was it what was originally shipped on the box?
Area47 02-17-2009, 12:23 PM it was the latest off your site actually
hungryhip-ccp 02-17-2009, 12:34 PM for what its worth, may problem is gone with the updated software... but i also find myself reaching in the cubby hole and turning your box off everytime i drive the car... i wish it was off all the time and a push of the button would turn it on if needed, (like at the track)
for daily driving this thing just gets in the way...
but i also have to admit now that im turbo, it is nice to do a no-lift and have boost drop from 22 to 19psi on a shift were before the car would completely fall on its face in between shifts...
so def a +1 for turbo guys...
06black 02-17-2009, 01:36 PM Why do you want to cut fuel? And do you want it just on the no-lift shift or on the 2-step as well?
i want fuel cut because i've got a rather large turbo out back and she'll respond much better to no fuel w/ hot spark and air Vs tons of unburt fuel and no spark.
on both would be nice, at least the two-step.

i reloaded the software with the most recent update on your site. it worked just fine again. a number of us have had this problem
I've had mine installed since last summer and I have never once had this happen. Maybe there was a batch of bunk boxes?
Maxim_X 02-18-2009, 07:16 PM ^^^ x2 the only problems I have had was when I hover the clutch and it wont disengage the 2 step. Just operator error though.
You guys who have problems all got the box right when it came out didn't you?

conerboner 10-25-2009, 10:49 PM So will this work on a 2.2 ls? the website only shows the lt and then in the faq towards the bottom of the page it says:
Do I need a clutch switch?
No, you don't! Most recent cars have the clutch up switch already built in. If you have cruise control, you likely already have the switch you need
So, since I don't have cruise control will the wot box not work? or would it just be more wiring for me?
Viper33884 10-25-2009, 11:04 PM I would assume for an auto there would be a lot of wiring to go along with this. And I dunno how long the multiple auto clutch plates would hold up?
conerboner 10-26-2009, 09:04 PM no i have a manual but it's a base and i don't have cruise...

You may have the switch anyway. Check under the dash. Usually the manufacturers just put them in anyway. If not, you can put in the OEM cruise switch and wire up two extra wires. Or use a generic WOT switch as a cruise switch.

chris88z24 12-25-2009, 06:33 PM So I installed this last night on my car and I am incredibly satisfied with my 169 usd purchase.
At first I had the thing on full auto mode which, with my style of driving, was pretty close to driving without the wot box. By the time I was in gear the car didn't really cut the spark as much as it should, and my tires (and clutch eventually) suffered.
HOWEVER, after I manually set up the timing for the ignition cut... bingo. My car went from being a hit or miss on WOT shifts to shifting like pure butter. It's just like a video game. Clutch, shift, release, and the car just goes. With the roads the way they are and my snow tires on, I was roping the tires off well into the top of 2nd gear and well into 3rd. It also holds boost between gears which may not sound important on a supercharged car but believe me, it does make a difference. It's also nice not having to worry about perfect shift timing and whether or not your tires will spin or your clutch. Which makes sense when you are making power well above what the stock unit is rated for.
Conclusively, I'd say this WOT box was 169 bucks well spent, and the car is now incredibly fun to drive once again. The two step is useless on cold pavement but it's fun to use it anyway.
Edubs 12-25-2009, 10:29 PM Ugh,
I still have to install mine. You're just making me want to throw it on even though the block will be out in the next week or two...
