Yep, you have to email support@hptuners with your serial# and the original thread link for the beta. I still need to get Tom over here so I can play around.
The reason the tuners are so high is that they are made by BSR in Switzerland. I looked into buying these back when Hahn was probably first looking into it too, because the tuners are slick, but they cost $1,300 in Switzerland, and they only offer the resellers a cost of ~$750 a unit with no tuning on it, so Hahn is making less money here than they do tuning the car themselves face to face. If some cheapass company like SCT would have done this we could be buying them at $250 and selling them to you guys for $400 with tunes loaded.
Give us all time and Area and I will be cranking these suckers out. More people should really invest in learning how to tune.
There's like 25,000 members on here......maybe 120 own HPTuners........50 claim to know how to tune........20 can tune........10 can tune really well...... and then there's Black, Area, Wicked, Witt, and me. And of those people I think Witt is probably the more scientific, I'm the most experienced IIRC.
Dammit I have to wait til tomorrow to tune my first LNF cobalt. Hopefully it's a fun experience and not 21 minute read times like it was on the LNF solstice.

I'm still probably the only one who has ever shown up to a Cobalt Meet got out of my car screaming in rage and ran across a parking lot, broke a Handicapped parking pole out of the concrete and threw it across the Krispy Kreme parking lot before saying Hello to anyone, then I said HI and went and pissed behind the dumpster.
I'd say you're nutty. I'm a crazy bastard too, but probably not the weird one out of the group.

lol
I've done lots of crazy stuff at cobalt meets. At one carshow I shoved a bag of white rice up my mufflers and left it there for when I started my car. Rice flys far, beware!
Also spun my cobalt out at ~80mph on a mountain and managed to do a 720* and not die. On video.
Also drove down I-10 sitting on my driver's door hanging out of my car.
Marshalled a Cruise-Control only street race: where cars had to set their cruise to match, and then race using only the ( + ) button on their steeringwheels.
Ran out of a Casino in Vegas at a car meet drunk and tripping on Salvia at 6:30am after having 2 strippers up in my room dancing naked all over me and smoking salvia for 3 or 4 hours.
There are a few things I did on video, but that was totally not planned. I showed up SO pissed off that's just what happened. When I finally calmed down I realized I bent my car key so bad it wouldn't fit in the ignition without some pounding. A lot of people on these forums saw that happen.
Holy Krikie Bill! Oh well. You know on the LNF solstice and sky the electric fan runs while it reads, so it's a miracle that there haven't been a bunch of voltage issues while tuning.

the bosch pcm's only have a slow packet mode so the reads take longer than most of the pcm's you are used to, we've tried to list avg read times in our help file.

There you go. And you can give him the new experience in the meantime to to help get him started on the LNF. I've looked at the LNF files for a long time but never bothered paying $100/car just to change fan settings etc. Now that there are boost and RPM limit controls we're in business.
