Which wheels
Which wheels
wheels will be going on this

I really like the adr propulshion 18"x8" and i can't really find any info on them. I called golden apple to see how much they weigh and the guy said that 18" wheels weight roughly around 27lbs but that was a general answer. Has anyone ever heard of them how is the quality? I like all 3 color options and really like the silver and grey.

Then I also like the ASA AR9 and have the same questions for these except I know these weigh 24lbs. I also like the grey accent and the black both with the carbon fiber inserts and the chrome inserts. They are also 18"x8"

So whats your opinons will it look to rice? Hows the quality? 4lbs a wheel will not make much of a differance at all IMO but if I am wrong please correct me but if you do so then please have some kind of logical evidence. I have taken 10lbs a wheel of my truck and only picked up a single 1/10 in the 1/4 mile.
I am open to opinions and substitutes so let them flie.
Thanks

I like the stockers but the cheapest I can find 1 for is 420, I'm not sure if anyone has read my other thread but I ran over a brick and bent the rim and tore the tire so I can either buy 1 wheel and 1 tire or 4 wheels and 1 tire. I thought the wheel was useable and I was just gonna put a tire on it this weekend but when i went home for lunch i looked it over and the wheel actually has a flat spot on it not meaning its not round anymore and un useable. So now my options are spend money either 600-800 for 1 stock or 800-1200 for 4 aftermarket. If you can think of anyting that looks better than stock dont be afraid to post them i am open to options i just did a quick search and found those 2.
Question 1. Are those a forged wheel or a cast wheel?
Question 2. Do you know any lowrider guys that have a lead hammer?
Lead hammers were used to installed the hub spinner for wheels like Daytons. They also worked great for many of us in the 90s who had billet centered wheels with a softer billet wheel ring...and too small of a tire..which resulted in many a flat spotted wheel.
IF your wheel is a forged wheel, there is a chance you can get a lead hammer, cover the area with a towel and whack the hell out of that area until it rounds out again. On forged aluminum wheel rings (lips) it can remove the flat spot. Sometimes you have to use all your strength and really hammer it hard. You don't have anything to lose if you have written off the wheel already.
Back in the day many of us carried such a hammer to knock a flat spot out of a wheel so it would hold air again.

Check with the local custom shops in Houston. There are several shops that build custom trucks and the like. They will probably have one. The lead is softer than the forged wheel so you shouldn't mess it up. Just make sure and put something over the lip such as a towel so you won't scratch it. Since I think you said it was on the inside, a few scuffs won't be noticable. Its worth a try if you've written the wheel off and don't plan to use it again. You'd be surprised how much you re-round the lip back out with a lead hammer. The first time I saw it done I didn't believe it. Worked fine and the bead set fine. Can you post a picture of the bent lip so we can see how much it has been deformed?
Probably your best bet of finding a shop in Houston would be to go over to streetsourcemag dot com and ask. Most of the people there will know exactly what you are looking for and who will have one in your area.

I like the Stocks the best too. I'm planning on powdercoating them if I get a SS/TC after my SS/SC's lease expires in like 11 months...
But I'd go with the ASA AR9's with the CF inserts... Bad Ass...
The first rims pictured look like they'd be more for a bigger sedan like a Charger, G8, Mercedes etc...
Without actually seeing them on the Balt I'd think they'd look kinda ugly. That's just me.
Poll it!

I personally think gold wheels would look amazing on the Imperial Blue Cobalts.
Im thinking about getting an Imperial Blue SS/TC (or maybe another summit white Cobalt in the form of an SS/TC). If I do, im going with these:

18"x8" and yes, they're 5x110!

I guess I will save the wheels for another day. I just found a wheel repair shop in houston that will come to my house and fix it if he can repair it in the truck it will be $100 if not he will send it to be refinished and it will be $145 and he guarntees it to be within all factory specs. So I will probably do this and buy 1 tire so I just cut my cost down to about 360 with mounting and balancing. But later down the line when I actually have time to look I will replace them with some i actually like and are a known good quality.
From what he says he is going to use some sort of press I will find out soon enough. Even if it is the lead hamer thats fine because if he scews up its only going to cost me an extra $45 so sounds good to me
I am not real sure on all black but maybe gloss black with the fronts polished or something I dunno I am in the process of downloading photoshop to my new computer, I used to have it on my old one and never had to ask opions I just choped the pics and decided what i liked. I will still poll it when i get done playing around. I will take my comp home this weekend and play with some ideas.
