Forced air conditioning -- OFF

Hi all,
Is there a way to prevent air con from turning on when I select air to blow on windshield or windshield-and-feet?
Thanks

yeah make sure you press the A/C button to turn it off. The A/C light and recirculate light should both be off. All the compressor runs when you turn defroster on I believe

Ummmm i think hes talking about when you turn the defrost on and the light for the AC comes on. To the OP the air conditioning isnt comming on to blow air its comming on to take the humidity out of the air to defog the window. If you turn the compressor off your defroster wont work.

There you go.

Best explanation.

No, there is no way to defeat the compressor when using the defroster.

I know, AC comes on to dry the air.
I don't like when it blows directly on me, so I prefer to put selector in defrost position.
AC light does not come on but the windshield becomes foggy from outside.

I have found something about this idea, but it's for Honda:

Under the hood in the fuse panel, there is a fuse called ac comp, I think. Pull it. I did this last winter. Works good.

also there is a "fuel pump" fuse... pulling it out will help to save gas

Same with my car. The A/C light does not come on in the winter when I have it on defrost.

You can blow the hot air instead... fog goes away quick before you get too hot.

Yes there is, don't turn the knob completly to the defroster, it will open the vents near the winshield but will not engauge the compressor. Works fine, as long as the heat is up.
