Hince no one makes them, or not available yet. Co27SSKid 02-13-2006, 06:26 PM he's a noob, cut the guy some slack! lol :guns: Doc 02-13-2006, 06:33 PM he's a noob, cut the guy some slack! lol :guns: I know he is.... yes, someone made them. No one makes them to the collective knowledge of this forum. I should have included that in my response. oh, btw....welcome to the site :D undrgrndcobalt 02-13-2006, 06:33 PM IMO those are...... how would you say this...... kinda..... ugly.... Doc 02-13-2006, 07:00 PM what about these..??? http://www.gospeedwayworld.com/images/site_images/ZXX05941400%20ZXX05941500-A-c.jpg p7x 02-13-2006, 08:47 PM Im waiting for some clear tailights, blue car with red everywhere, GTG, as well as amber in my headlights. Mercury 02-13-2006, 09:42 PM I actually don't think they will ever be making those taillights. You have to have a red reflector on the back of your car, hence our red taillights. I don't see how those could reflect red if they were all clear. philco_3 02-13-2006, 10:33 PM I know DOT says they have to have red reflectors in them, but there is another car out there that has stock taillights similar to those. I think the outter side has a silver/white paint on them, but when the breaks are hit they come out red. Drive XR7 02-13-2006, 10:34 PM Good... the big wing makes it look ricey enough. We don't need clear taillights. campo165 02-13-2006, 11:10 PM yea...its called a lexus 330 or a 400h....they have ways to get it to work...its cooool. i love it on the 330 or 400h Mercury 02-13-2006, 11:22 PM yea...its called a lexus 330 or a 400h....they have ways to get it to work...its cooool. i love it on the 330 or 400h http://www.siliconeer.com/past_issues/2004/MAY2004-FILES/may04_lexus_rx330_lead3.jpg That car also has Red reflectors on the bottom bumper, seperate from the taillamp. The only way the 272 Cobalt Clear taillights could be legal is if they had red reflectors in them. JonyyB 02-13-2006, 11:25 PM let's be nice to new ppl guys :) Welcome sshaner :cssNET: italstalnprd86 02-14-2006, 01:00 AM someone should find someone with a vaccum forming machine, make a mold, and see what they can come up with..... i wouldnt mine clear tails my self, im looking into some led bulbs..... Badmunky 02-14-2006, 01:43 AM Sorry but a vaccum forming machine will not make tail lights. You need a machiane that is 100 times more expensive. An injection mold machine and the dies neede to make the taile lights. I used to work for a company that did injection moldeing. That stuff is not cheap. later 05BlackCobaltSS 02-14-2006, 11:28 AM Why can't you make the clear taillights, but put small red relectors into the inner reverse lights? Sure they wouldn't be COMPLETELY clear, but something like this http://groups.msn.com/CobaltSSSC/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1 I know it's rough, but you get the idea. The only way the 272 Cobalt Clear taillights could be legal is if they had red reflectors in them. thats not the 272 concept. Sure they wouldn't be COMPLETELY clear, but something like this http://groups.msn.com/CobaltSSSC/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=1 I know it's rough, but you get the idea. or just put a small reflector on the back.. how bout leaving the third brake light cover red. Or just puting red bulbs in them so they are still red when you break or at night when the lights are on. italstalnprd86 02-14-2006, 11:49 AM i would think that as long as the bulbs where red, and the inside of the light was just silver and reflective, that they would be ok.... i dont know though p7x 02-14-2006, 11:55 AM exactly^^^^ legally they have to be. I think clear or black on my car would look better than red neways http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c390/P7XP7X/rearend6.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c390/P7XP7X/rearend5.jpg But ultimately blue would be awesome. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c390/P7XP7X/rearend3.jpg ajent 02-14-2006, 12:21 PM Wow, that 1st and 3rd pic I really like.. (i've got the blue SS/SC) Is that where your SS decal really is? R33P3R007 02-14-2006, 12:23 PM those pics are good. I was hoping the first was the real deal. but then I scrolled down and saw the rest. Dammit you had my hopes up. R33P3R007 02-14-2006, 12:23 PM PS. Why is your car outside in the rain, when you clearly have at least a 2 car garage. importkiller 02-14-2006, 12:31 PM well first of all it had to be a certian surface area, (i dunno what it is exactly go ask the lawmakers) second of all i think that that is kinda ugly, The only thing i have seen so far done to a cobalt was a black one with 2 coats of niteshades like tint so that they still reflected light but they looked black but that only looks good on a black balt, personaly i love the taillights my only wish was that the outer ring of the reverse lights light up that would be super cool. Mercury 02-14-2006, 12:58 PM thats not the 272 concept. NO CRAP. If you saw what I was quoting, it is the lexus SUV with the clear taillights. Even if you have clear taillamps with red bulbs, you NEED to have a RED reflector. R33P3R007 02-14-2006, 01:48 PM http://www.siliconeer.com/past_issues/2004/MAY2004-FILES/may04_lexus_rx330_lead3.jpg That car also has Red reflectors on the bottom bumper, seperate from the taillamp. The only way the 272 Cobalt Clear taillights could be legal is if they had red reflectors in them. I was just saying that the 272 is not the one that he linked too. thats all, since you mentioned the 272. see^^^ p7x 02-14-2006, 03:12 PM Wow, that 1st and 3rd pic I really like.. (i've got the blue SS/SC) Is that where your SS decal really is? Nah everything is photoshopped, BUT that will change this spring, i mainly sticking to performance but in the mean time I have been chopping any and all ideas i have had for my car. Basically going for a blue and black theme but silver and white I think set off the car. 3 pic is copyrighted (highly illegal) but looks awesome. those pics are good. I was hoping the first was the real deal. but then I scrolled down and saw the rest. Dammit you had my hopes up. Thanx, sorry dude, this summer should be good for parts most companies spend all winter coming up with shite and than come summer dump it on the market. R33P3R007 02-14-2006, 03:21 PM lets hope so R33P3R007 02-14-2006, 04:05 PM and why is this not work Safe?.... Just wondering JonyyB 02-14-2006, 04:09 PM and why is this not work Safe?....
