Ice is the best

I just got 2008 black turbocharged ss and right away I put Turtlewax Ice on the car and bought the matching Ice instant detailer too. Many people have said they never saw a black car that shines like this.Trust me, no smearing on black car in almost 90 degree heat. And no I dont work for them. Before I used Meguiars but this stuffblows it away.

i have used ice several times, and find that it's no where near as good as mequirs gold class on my black car.

i think mainly the people here that like the ice are the people that are new to cleaning their car. i was very unhappy with the way the ice worked. yea, it looked good. but it didn't look anywhere near as good as the gold class.

Yea i thought it was the **** at first too when i first bought my car i used it all the time and then one day after i got off duty i walked out the parkin lot and found that some seagulls decided to use my car as target practice.... i figured no biggy i just put the ice stuff on yesterday it will be fine so i went to the car wash and washed it off and didnt think anything else of it as i figured it would just come right off there. I then went to my apartment and looked at the spot where the birdshit was and saw that it had eaten all the way through the clearcoat and actually fucked up the paint on the car. I had to take it to a body shop and they had to wetsand it with 2000 grit and buff it for like 30 minutes to get the original luster back and somewhat disguise the fucked up paint spots that sort of looked like a leaf had been laying on the car for like ten years.... well the point is dont use ice unless you use some really good **** like liquid glass to seal your paint first then it will be fine to go over that with ice because its not a wax its just a polish...

Get motorcycle polish for a spray detail.

You will thank me later.

You can use it on your wheels...and it will wax them and get all the dust off...with simple wiping.

Veneer and rubber?

No problem.

You can use it on your interior stuff too.

It is my secret weapon.

Megs for the win, i detailed ( https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show-shine-140/first-detail-2008-a-102857/ ) back in march and just a wash still makes the car looks awesome, the bugs are still some work but anything hit at 60 mph plus is going to leave a mark.

Agreed, when I first got interested in detailing I thought it was the greatest stuff ever. I mean its good if you're in a pinch since you can apply it in direct sunlight and it doesn't smear on plastic like wax. I mean A good quick wash and a layer of the Turtle Wax Ice polish will make your car look good for Saturday night, but it utterly lacks any protective qualities you'd find in a wax.

Ice is alright. Once you start getting into some serious waxing going on you realize it is garbage compared to some of the more expensive stuff.

we bought the ICE spray detailer a little while ago, its good for a quick clean up when the car doesnt need a wash

overall good product, cleans the car up well

ps. never expect it to last long, its a spray detailer, which means its used for quick clean ups

Thanks !!

As Ironic as it may sound we even have it on our site;

What is the #1 mistake customers make when applying wax?

Actually there are two, and one feeds off the other. Most customers do not read and follow the directions: they figure "all waxes are the same" and I know how to use them. And by virtue of this, 99% of them use too much product. !!!!! No ONE in the car care business will tell you this !

Some Info

Wax vs. Polish.

• Wax: A true wax contains carnauba, bees wax, or paraffin wax. The term wax is used two ways. You can use the word "wax" as a process upon where you apply a protective coating to a surface which could be a polymer (which is in our product) or use a product with a wax in it.

• Polish: A true polish contains an abrasive that will remove scratches or oxidized paint. It also will bring a dull finish to a shine. More aggressive polishes can remove orange peel, deep scratches, and also oxidized paint.

Our Swirl Remover and our compounds fall into that category (Polish)
