ohh i cant wait till it gets here...

UPDATE

decided to build motor while waiting for kit

remove everything connected to cyl head

remove valve cover

remove cam gears to get chain off... then remove head bolts...

remove this plug and lossen bolt to move chain slider out of way to access bolt

heres the bolts that are hiding this is the one by firewall

this is one by radiator

walla head should come off making one hella mess on the floor

clean out coolant and inspect cylinders

place valve cover back on to keep dirt out

although this may look bad i cannot even feel em with my finger or finger nail

cover every thing up to keep debris out

this was so easy please dont anyone be affraid to build there own motor... i have been a mech for 3 yrs but pretty much lived in the garage growing up with pops...

but if you have ever done a head gasket let me tell you this car is so ******* simple to work on its a joke

wow chris you sure were getting alot of oil in your intake manifold. looks like there is quite a bit in the intake ports on the head. are you planning on doing any internals?

ohh i didnt tell you... checked my oil........ it was 1 1/2 quarts overfull... needless to say i have a coupon for 2 free mobil 1 oil changes... but honestly it wasent as bad as it looks... just bearly a light film of oil

if you look you'll notice it was coming in from the bypass valve under decel (heavy vaccum)

oil catch can was half full in two weeks... thats what got me pondering...

then in about 15-20 min here are the results...

hmmm what shall we do today while waiting for parts

start off by # so you know whats what

remove the rod cap bolts...

turn the crank and push pistons out from bottom

get a good eye for what a 45* cross hatch looks like

using plateue brush/honing brush 400 grit replicate cross hatching

inspect old piston for possible sale.

after 5 min of begging let your immature buddy draw **** and dicks on them ruining all chances of sale

this is the brush i used you can pick it up at goodson.com
