08 SS/TC wheels-opinions?

This is kind of a cheesy thread, but I was looking at the homepage article about the new TurboSS, and I really dig those new wheels...they look great. Look like GM kinda designed them off the Z06 Vette wheels....what do you guys think of them as far as a factory wheel goes?

Good news and bad news..

Good news is that your car is the 5 lug pattern and you can buy the SS/TC rims. They look really nice.

and the bad... they're about $540 EACH for retail, but on CED, they're only $405 each - but that relates to about $1620.. and then you need tires. So you're looking at over 2 grand for rims and tires.

Costs a lot but will look really good in the end

Oh, I know....haha. I wasnt looking to buy a set of those, I'm sticking with the old style SS wheels...they can be had for much cheaper from a private party, I was just seeing what everyone thought of them.

Not if I buy them first

They look great & light weight & forged wheels. The only thing that can make them better, POLISHED them

They look great. I have seen them in person and on some colors I think they need to be gunmetal or black. Yellow would be the best with those painted black.

I love both the "gunmetal gray" / "smoked" SS rims that are on my SS/SC but I also really like the new SS/TC rims (They do look like they are styled off the ZO6 rims sorta...)

To me I like both SS rims equally, but I'd like the new SS/TC rims even more if they were powdercoated...

I dont care about weight....i have a 2.2 liter, I'd have to spend a fortune to make it a contender, I'm just out for looks. Personally I like the factory SS wheels a lot.

I think they look awesome, but they need to be polished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, they are just blaugh. If they are polished, they shine & it gives the car a much more classy looks!

i was actually supposed to sell mine yesterday, but ran in to an issue, i had a set of Rial Nogaros that i had on my 06 ss/sc, swapped those on but when i tried to drive the car, it wouldnt budge. rims were hitting the caliper. so ended up selling those rims and staying with my stockers.
