ah, i would be doing the airshow as well for the army display but im already posted on a tasking, but ill still be going there with my family, what display are you with? None the less.. Its a big town, tons of clubs/bars to go to. Yes things are more expensive compaired to US stuff. Downtown halifax is the best place to be.

yeah its a big city, bars are good, university is back in soon so that helps the bar scene haha.
come down to this place downtown on sunday if your still around, Point Pleasant Park, all us Cobalts go down, the bus stops there or i'm sure you wouldnt be too far of a walk.
Haha, you guys are funny. Those pictures actually make Halifax look nice, hope it lives up to his expectations... if you drink lots of beer its BEAUTIFUL!!!
What time on Sunday? I'm off work at 6:30... maybe see you in the Sackville area.

ya ill be in on a c-17 - no cobalt... I dont have enough rank for them to have them put my car on there.
ME and a couple of friends are coming, we aren't working the show, hell probably won't even go. WE can ride for free anywhere the planes go, so its just to get out and see a different country and what not. We'll be looking for hotels next week, so Ill make sure we get one down town. How manny people show up for the park thing?
ey? is that right canucks? did I spell it right? lol

Better to get your reservations as soon as you decide, with universities coming back to life and events downtown sometimes its impossible to find a room a downtown - especially if you are coming during the airshow. GOOD LUCK eh!!!

All of the above, worth visiting. Don't lose all your money at the Casino.
Also, walk up to Citadel Hill... just not at night... won't explain any further :-)
Point Pleasant Park is nice
Harbour Hopper - tour of the harbour - just don't go swimming....
Have Fun!!!

Pier 21 is directly behind the place u r staying. If u wanna go to scotia square mall, its close but id suggest Halifax Shopping Centre...its abit further but worth it. Not much going on at the metro centre. Point Pleasent Park is a nice place to go...we will all be there Sunday at 6:30ish.

I just want some Canadian shirts. Do you think I can find a shirt that says something like "Canada, Just America's Hat"? hahaha JK
ahh good stuff guys, i think i will have a good time. The it seems like, atleast in the area i am in, that walking around is a better way to travel to see everything? like everything is pretty close together? I've been to a couple good size city's downtown where walking around and getting lost is the best way to travel.
Thanks again!

LoL not sure about that, but you could probably find a shirt that says "canada, where americans go for real beer!" LoL
hope you enjoy your visit! don't worry! I know for a fact that visiting military people ALWAYS have a good time here during the air show! I hear them talking about their hangovers every year! LOL

-Boardwalk (goes from Pier 21 to the Casino)
-Pier 21
-Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (off of boardwalk)
-HMCS Sackville (docked behind the Museum of the Atlantic)
-Museum of Natural History
-Point Pleasant Park (its in rough shape from a hurricane a few years ago, but this is were most Halifax car meets are held)
-The Discovery Centre
-Casino
-Citadel Hill
-Harbor Hopper tours (amphibious vehicle goes through streets and through harbor)
-Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery tours
There are a lot of art museums if your into art as well. There are also a lot of great pubs and restaurants downtown too.
The metro centre is just a sports facility, if there are no hockey games or anything else going on, all you'll be looking at is roughly 12,000 empty seats.
Scotia mall is just a mall, if you want to do some shopping go to Halifax Shopping centre is much nicer, or Dartmouth crossing (other side of harbor) which has more variety.
If you are looking for things to do outside of the city, if you have transportation there is also the Shearwater Aviation Museum (you'll probably see this if your plane lands at Shearwater) or the Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum (you'll see this if the plane lands at Halifax International Airport).
edit:
Lame!
