does a cai intake make your car have a rattle noise when boosting because the dealer says my cai is the reason for the noise and i just wanted to know.

 

not that i know of.... I think the Dealership doesnt want to help you and are trying to blame the noise on you.

 

put your stock air box on and take it to a different dealership. The question is too general to answer. there are a few different things that could make your car rattle. your intake may possibly be the problem but no one will know unless they see it in person. If you do put the stock one back on and the noise is still there then you know it wasn't that. GL man.

 

Providing the rattle is not coming from the charger itself.
are you putting in premium gas 91 octane minimum. It not bad knock is it.(going up a slight incline and giving it gas.)
Other than that maybe its hitting where its going through the hole to the fender or somewhere there.
Take a look at it closely for marks.I think there were quit a few guys who actually wore holes in them and got a code because of it.

 

i put cai on my car and for some reason it was close to the rad support and it was rubbing on there so check to see if thats it.

 

yea i put premium fuel in my carn and i dont have the stock air box because i bought the car from the dealership with a cai and a muffler on it.

 

like everyone else said take a look at the piping and see if anything is rubbing. if nothing is rubbing, are you able to move the intake with your hands, if so then the lower half that is in the fender, the bolt may be loose or not there at all. i would start there.

 

did the car come with any warranty? if it came with it then they should of made sure it was workign fine before you bought it and if nothing has changed since they should find the problem and fix it.

 

yea it did but i took it to them and they sent it to fox chevy and they said there is nothing wrong with my car but i asked them what changed then that made this rattle or weird noise when accelerating and they said it might be the cai filter but i dont believe them.

 

how old are you? i'll be totally honest with you when i say that if you are young aint no dealership going to take you seriously. They are just going to look at you and thing you beat on that thing wether you do or not. if you are young take one of your parents with you and i bet somehting willo get done...
