What would cause a Spark plug to melt?

Hi all I had some issues last week when I was just driving normally, My car started making a horrible sound and the exhaust got really loud, I thought I might have done something really bad to it or the Cat took a crap. Anyways A few months back I installed Zex Spark-plugs. So today I went to digg into what I could find might be wrong, I checked the oil and it seemed fine, no oil blow out around the head (gasket) anyways I went and got some new spark plugs and figured I would change these out and see if that might be the problem. I took all four sparkplus out, the first two (Cylinder 4 and 3) and Nothing out of the ordinary, I went to take out number 2 and low and behold when I pulled out the Coil On Plug it pulled the entire sparkplug out with it and the entire top of the spark-plug was melted.

Anyone have any idea what would cause this?

Jason
