would like some opinions.....

as some of you may already know...... earlier this summer i blew the #4 cylinder. well i put the car back to stock and got it covered under warranty. i've been driving this car in completely stock form for almost a month now and well...... i'm having a little bit of modification envy. i dont want to go too crazy on the re-modding of this car because i am going to be putting my car up for sale pretty soon. but i really want to make it faster while i still have it. if it doesn't sell then i'm just going to keep it. i dont want to go nuts with it again, because i'm sure thats why it blew up. so this is my short term, cheap modification list:

3.0" ZZP pulley
stage 2 belt
GM 42lb injectors
1 step colder plugs
air box mod
custom magnaflow exhaust (either axle-back or cat-back, not sure yet)
dyno tune

what do you guys think?

sounds conservative. You should have too many problems. May I suggest some cooling mods, not necessarily to help make more power, but just to stay on the safe side. Front mount h/e and hatrickstu ice box would be plenty.

well the reason i was only going with a 3" pulley & 42s was so i dont "have" to do the cooling mods. like i said above, i'm going to be putting the car up for sale soon. so basically i dont want to dump too much money into before i sell it. just enough to make it fast enough to personally satisfy me until it's gone and i get something else.

but i guess adding a cobra h/e wouldn't cost too much money.....

It's up too you, but I'm just suggesting it because it will be even "safer".

$ reasons..... i'm not looking to put alot of money back into my car. so doing a really good air box mod will be perfectly fine. i'll save roughly $150.

oh yea i love the whine with a cai on it, but with an air box mod i'll be able to hear it good enough. right now with the stock air box on it i can hear it.

so if i ran a 2.8, 1 step coolers, shorter belt, and 42#s, it would be safer to just go ahead and do some cooling mods with it?

i would prefer to run 60's with 2.8 and lower. please do cooling mods for any pulley smaller than stock even with stage 2, do at least dual pass option b.

you could do either or. with a 2.8 your really pushing the injectors, but if you dont drive hard you'll be ok.

the HE can oly help you, i would suggest doing it first, and building up after that, if you're going in stages.

a custom dyno tune via HPTuners is the best, canned tunes suck.
