Replaced Fujita CAI with Injen CAI
OK, I just replaced my Fujita CAI for the Injen CAI.. The fitment seems a lot better.. although I do still get some wheel rubbing when I make a sharp enough left hand turn.. but that may be because of my snow tires being so big.. Anyways for performace I really miss the Fujita a lott.. The power seemed a lot better and the scream was unbelievably better.. I did get a cel with the Fujita .. and after replacing the Cel wont go away still.. and Im pretty sure they reset it after installing so I dont know what that could mean.. but I almost miss the loud scream so much that I almost wanan go back to Fujita and find a way to custom fit it some how lol.. but I most likely will end up stayin with Injen for now.
DUDe, what didn't fit with the fujitsu???? cuz u pretty much just answered mone, and alot of other ppls Questions about thos 2 intakes!!! I'm pretty much now 98% fujitsu!!! while about 10 min b 4 this thread, i was 98% Injen!!! WHAT DOn"T FIT RIGHT???

the lower part of the CAI tube was pressing towards my splash gaurd and every time I made sharp or quick left hand turns my wheel would push up and rub against it.. The Injen seems to fit better although I have had soem rubbing taking sharp left hand turns goign up hill which seems almost impossible to avoid.. but Im hoping the Stock rims will not hit when I put them on since my winter tires are much bigger than them (height wise) I know there are some people who were succesful with installing the Fujita unlike me.. and some people who ran into the same problem and were able to work around and make it fit.. So I now would suggest going with the Fujita if you want a really loud scream and the best gains..I would deffinetly also reccomend getting it installed somewhere that people will know what they are doing and knwo how to work with fitment problems
and dont just brign it anywhere.. I first brought my car to an auto shop to try and fix the fitment problem and all tehy did was cut my splash gaurd.. So instead of the wheel rubbing against the splash guard it was rubbing against the wheel.. yea they are idiots.. But deff tell the people you go to what to expect and watch out for
Couple things I dont get here .
1) How could a CAI ever possiblely cause a tire rub ? Mine Injen is not even remotely close to even touching the inner fender liner . Though the very tip of the filter does press against the side of the bumper cover .
2) How would the Fugita make the blower whine louder . Is the fugita considerably shorter than the Injen ? Guess I just dont get how 2 similar or same sized pipes with high flow filters and roughly same length of pipe could create a measurable difference in sound . I had a K&N drop in and lower portion removed on my stock air box and the Injen didnt make it any louder from that , just the same .

unless the intake is pushing up against the splashguard hard and putting it out of place, i don't see how it could be possible

when I had the Fujita in I had my stock tires on my car(which are smaller in height than my winter tires) and it rubbed very easy when I was makign sharp turns.. It hit most when I was makign a sharp turn going upward which causes the tire to raise up with the suspension which helped give teh intakes tube a nice extra push and rub to it.. I ended up bringing it to some autobody and all they did was cut my splash gaurd.. which obviously did nothing.. so I brought it back again and they tryed messign with it somehow and made it a little betetr than it was but still rubs... anyways I decided to buy the Injen and I got it installed at a place that installs that kind of things for a buisness and I test drove it after(with winter tires) and it seemed to be better, but then I took a coupel more good once or quick turns and I felt it rub during the left hand turn again.. not as bad but Im goign to wait until after winter and see if the stock tires will make it any better
as far as why the Fujita scream is so much louder and feels a bit more powerful I can say why.. but I think the Fujita is build a little different.. I think it has something built into it to help the flow of the air or something like that I could be wrong but I thought thats what it said..

we're not talking about mm of diference, it would have to be inches of difference. then it would throw the splashguard so far off of alignment the fastener holes wouldn't line up.
i just can't picture how the intake could bulge out the splashguard so much that it rubs the tire, there's a couple inch gap between the two.
I actually had 2 Fujita CAI's teh first one I installed with some friends which took forever and the lwoer tube was pressing against the splash gaurd.. we coudlnt figure out anythign else to do... a week later I get in an accident and the CAI gets destroyed and then I brign it to an autobody and they order a new one and install it themselves and they ran into teh same problem.. so I brought it back and told them it was rubbing and they said they did something wierd with ti to make it fit sa little betetr but it was the best they could do and it still rubbed so I just gave up and bought Injen..
