Question 2008 TC - How many?

Anyone have info on how many SS/TC's were produced in 2008? Only produced for 3-4 months in small quantities... I'd say a rare piece of machinerey in the 2008 model... I hear they only made 5000 a year of the SS/SC's [not sure how accurate that is] but I don't see a lot of SS's out there...

my guess is between 1,000 and 2,000 maybe even less. Most likely probably less than a 1,000

PM Cougarguy... he's a chevy salesman. Maybe he has access to those #'s...

There already a cpl posts about this prolly a few pages back no one has ben able to get this info yet gm wont release til spring of 09 and so far no one is talking from the factory seems like one guy said there were 1,500 cobalts built every 24hrs and 1 in 15 was an ss so maybe it is low if they didnt ramp up ss production after the quality snafu this spring that made our cars so late????

I know there are only 10,000 being made in 2009, so I imagine that figure was lower for 08 when they were new. That really is a extremely low # considering how popular and affordable this car is. My dealer told me they cant keep them in the showroom for more than a week or two, and pre-owned ss's are an easy sell.

I know you all would like to know about how many SS/TC 2009 Coupes but I would love to know how many 09 Sedans they are making this year it would really float my boat to hear a lower number ...

The Rarest is better for resale too.

rare or not , the resale on chevys is not great. when i traded in my ss/na they wanted to rape me. once i said i wanted to buy a new model they rasied the trade in value by a few thousand since they knew it would result in a sale. in the end the sale never happened since they couldn't get my ss/tc in a timely manner. beleive it or not i saw the actual car made for me by my order driving down the street last week. it looked sexy as hell and kinda made me regret not waiting for it. oh well....

Rare takes years to take effect, but I'd have to assume the short time frame the #'s are low for 08's, as far as 09's the # I read was 10000.

VW mad only 5000 R32s, and often still selling close to retail. VW is junk btw, SO why are they still almost the same price ?? German import that has a crappy transmission and crappy warranty etc ?? Strange little world we live in if people are willing to pay for a German engineered POS

VWs arn't junk. Go drive a GTI/Rabbit, their interior is worlds better than a Cobalt and the rest of it (powertrain/suspension) functions properly.

Funny isn't it. Reason why is because of how F*cked up the general publics' perception of how anything that's not American is better. Yeah VW's quality could be argued to be worse than the domestic yet not only the R32 but most of the VW's in general hold their value, far greater than the domestics...

But yeah, the Cobalt is a Cobalt and the crappy thing is no matter which one we all got, our re-sale value is all going down...

No their interiors are much nicer. My friend has a 04 MKIV Jetta GLI, and his interior is 5X better than my SS/SC, and his car is 2 years older...

My Cobalt @ slightly over 3 months old already has a few interior rattles that annoy me, didn't figure they would come so soon.

Oh the rattles... Yeah I had one... Just wait until your shift cap snaps off, clothes hanger break, carpet wear near clutch, and your satin door trims start to peel... All of that happened before I had the car for 2 years...

The niceness stops with the interior. VW's are full of electrical and mechanical problems.

I heard all the same complaints with my Scion tC. 73k miles later and I had none of those problems. Of course engine wise I had an endless line of expensive problems. Good thing for the warranty.
