Rebel Front Splitter Insert GB

Here at Rebel Autoworxs we are always trying develop new products and break new ground. We have something new and interesting to offer you guys. The Cobalt has a front splitter built into the bumper which can do great things for the aerodynamics of the car. A front splitter helps to push the front of the car down onto the road.
Unfortunately our front bumper doesn't go back far enough and the air that splits over just ends up going back under the car in the big gap between the bumper and the rad. We have made an insert that goes into the bumper that closes off that space enabling the splitter t do its job.

Not only will this help stability but it will also help cooling by forcing more air to go through the rads. We made Back-to-Back runs to show the difference.
Ambiant Air Temp - 54'F
Engine Temp - 87'F

Stock Runs Before

First Run 109'F - 145'F

Second Run 129'F - 156'F

Runs with the Splitter

First Run 106'F - 140'F

Second Run 118'F - 147'F

All tests done on the same road with the exact same turnarround points to be as accurate as possible. With the Splitter Installed we saw a 9'F drop in IAT2. You can also remove that ugly, useless plastic air dam that hangs under the rad. These pieces will be water jet cut from Aluminum and come with all mounting hardware. We are also looking into making a Full Front Splitter so if you are interested in this please post.

Regular price will be $119.99 but if we get at least 10 orders we will knock of $20 and do it for $99.99+Shipping

hmmm full front splitter, what would that look like. Also, would this all be mounting to current holes in the car or would i need to be drilling new holes? just curious.

This one does mount to holes already in the car but the Full Front will require some more support and may need holes drilled.

And a tire just looks like rubber stuck on a wheel but there is more to it than that.

that useless piece of plastic is very helpful in directing air flow TO the radiator at low speeds. at highway speeds it begins to fold under

The aluminum is not to thick but strong enough to handle the forces exerted on it. The wehght it will add is negligable only a few pounds.

It should take 1/2 hour with hand tools.

Well we have provided logs to show that it actually helps with temps. If you dont believe that a front splitter helps handeling then there is nothing I can do to convince you. If all race cars use it then it must do something.

Well at low speeds I noticed a 2-4 degree drop in temps so.

i hate to be "that guy", but throttle control can drop the temps, or raise them.

if you wanted to do something cool, you would have taken a small section on each side of that belly pan, or front pan. which ever you want to call it, and put small louvers in it with a machined plate on the other side for either brake cooling, or forced air to the stock heat exhanger.

if this idea gets used, i want credit

Brake cooling would be awesome. Reduce fade and such.

Oh yes I know that all you have to do is watch the IAT2 when you first stomp it they drop before they go up.

There is a reason I did not put pics of the inside. We have something like this but it is rather ugly since it was hand made but when we get the first production one back I will show more. Brake cooling would be nice and maybe we ca work that into the Full Splitter and call it Option A47!

No offense, but don't you think you should ship out paid orders before doing R&D on stuff like this? I am still waiting for my stage kit, it's been a month!

I hate having to post in this thread but you won't reply to my PMs!
