whos had the recall for the rotors done on their tc?

I was going to have my first oil change done yesterday and I said that the brakes sometimes squeak when coming to a stop,

I knew their was a tsb for pulsing in the rotors but thats not what my problem is and dont want them messing with my brakes if they really dont need to

Has anyone had this tsb done to their car?

What did they do the complete the repair?

Also has anyone noticed the t/c running rough on cold starts?

Mine seems to run like its missing out but once its warm its seems to quit

Only thing I've done is put the K&N drop in filter and the car has 2400 miles

mods feel free to move this thread I meant to post in problems and service.... sorry

Ya,my rear brakes are starting to sqeal badly at certain braking speeds,i would say 40-10 mph stops.I just hit 300 miles.I am told this is normal, but why would they sqeak now when they were'nt a 100 miles ago?.

I noticed my brakes squeaking awhile back, but figured it was just brake dust or dirt. If mine are squeaking should I take it to the dealership or what?

The squealing is normal. The reason is they are high performance brakes and contain a high percentage of metal compound in them. Metal against metal produces the squeal. Like high performance tires that are "sticky".. they will likely wear out faster than pads designed for comfort. Pads of this type also create a LOT of dust.

My last car had full racing spec brakes. I knocked it down a notch after that though.... it was so annoying. These aren't too bad. I can live with it.

I took my car in Friday (9/19/08) to get my free oil change, fix the passenger side door rattle and fix the hazard light switch.
They changed the oil, put a new strike plate on the door and had to order the switch.
They also changed the front rotors for me, said that the letter should be here in the next few days.
The service tech also said that it had to do with some of them cracking. I was not having any problems with the front brakes at all.

If its normal than its all good for me. It doesnt bother me at all, I was just gonna take it to the Dealer if it wasnt normal. Thanks for the info.

Had mine done too...they squeek less than they did when my rotors were warped to hell, but its still quite loud and annoying. New pads might be in my near future.

ok,i am not convinced yet that i have no problem.I would say,by the look of the rotors,my rear left one is doing all the squealing.I took a good look at all my rotors. The fronts are perfect, and smooth. The rear right is nearly perfect and smooth, with just the slightest hint of some crosshatching. The rear left rotor looks fubarred to me,lol. Here are some pics, and one i just threw in there because i have'nt showed off my tc yet. Open to thoughts..

*(^&sorry,i hit wrong button.I am goin nuts trying to link to my ftp and get the links right for pics:banghead:

ok,jezus i finally got it figured, lol. Here's the pics:

I have those marks too but I think they are normal. Here is a pic of a brand new rotor (I don't know what it fits)

[QUOTE=Zander916;2911203]I have those marks too but I think they are normal. Here is a pic of a brand new rotor (I don't know what it fits)

I am guessing something got embedded on the brake pad or something is out of alignment. The lines in my first pic can be felt with your hand, and are more perfect straight lines like they were etched x's all over with a ruler, not from the rotor machining.I don't mean to take away from this great balt because i love it,but some things are bound to come up.I will take it in today. The squealing remains, and if will try different pads if nothing is resolved.

I'll take pics of my rear rotors they have pretty decent sized grooves on both drivers and passenger sides.

Hey bandit... nice SS!!

my rear rotors are pretty close to what bandits looks like as far as wear, this pic turned out poor but you get the idea..

I had my rotors replaced 800 miles ago because they were warped now sometimes they squeal like craky under light to moderate braking from almost all speeds. To all with sun roofs does yours seem to fit like crap in the back (sticking up). Because I get a lot of wind noise and I believe that is the source.

this is my second ss with a sunroof and my new one has a better overall fit than my ss/sc had...

I think I made my old car worse by doing all the service myself (jacking the carup and down) I think that the unibody prolly needs a lift as opposed to jacking one side of the car and putting all the weight on one side, and vice versa.

Also at the end of my driveway their is a giant curb with a storm drain in it. I always take it at a angle but you deff can hear the body flex as you go over it

My old ss/sc's pass side door wasn't flush with the body, it was actually about 5-10mm sunk into the body

My appointment for my brakes is in a hour so I'm sure they will tell me that the rotors are on back order but that's cool I can wait.

i had mine switched and now they squeel a little bit under slow braking. the pads need to adjust to the new rotors if this hasnt corrected itself in 1000 miles i will be having the pads replaced also

I don't believe you guys. You want a TRUE high performance car but then the TRUE high performance brakes make a little noise and you don't want real competition brakes any more.
WEAR EARPLUGS AND DRIVE THE DAMN THING!!!
