93 octane. i go to the same gas stations but it's only because they're on my way to work and home. i wouldn't go out of the way for a particular brand of gas.

I will only buy 87 from Shell. Even with my old car, it was always 93 V-Power from them too.

the v power gas is what octane ?? or does it vary ???

I use 87 because i have an LS, everyone and a while put some 91+ in it!!!!

I really like shell's gas but there are not very many around here!

Every Shell I've been it's been 93, and I never used an octane booster either - but it was a 94 Dodge Intrepid with the 3.5L V6 and a 10.1:1 compression ratio

Car has never seen anything less than 93 except one time when I had to throw 91 in when I almost ran out on the Mass Turnpike.

I typically use Mobil, Hess and Shell if I can find them, but prefer Chevron. Unfortunately, Chevron doesn't have any stations around here.

I really am not that picky as long as the company is a recognizable name. If It's not one of the big companies, I don't like putting it in because I have no idea of the quality...

Omega_5
10-02-2008, 01:30 PM
Only 91 around here.... and only Shell V-Power for my motors... unless I'm only highway driving, then it's whatever premium fuel I can get a hold of.

EXsoccer1921
10-02-2008, 01:31 PM
i run 91. mostly because its the highest grade they sell here. and also cause i'm stock...for now. but the local track sells 116 so i can always pick up about 20 gallons and just mix it.

93 from whatever reputable company that does the least price gouging that's near where I'm at. So basically anything but BP.

I always fill up at Hess. And of course, now I have the SS/TC, it will only be seeing 93 from now on! (The dumb ass dealership put 87 in when I bought it).

monkeiboy
10-02-2008, 01:35 PM
93 V power from Shell, because that's what our stations offer here.

I've put in 91 before, and I'm fine with that, but I've never put anything less in there.
Good to see there are other nuts like me in here.
I also do full synthetic oil changes at precisely 3,000 miles.

91's the best stuff around in CO, so I use it. Stage 2 requires 93, so I'm either knocking to hell at WOT, or there's enough of a power drop up here that 91 is enough to stop it.

OP, might wanna put 85 on there too, some places (like CO) sell it as regular instead of 87, which is mid-grade up here.

Shell V-power 93 Octane or Sunoco Super 94 Octane.

No problems or issues for me with 87. I try to use Shell or any GM recommended "Top Tier" fuel.

I use 93 octane. I usually get my gas at a Hess station not to far from my house, its cheaper there than any other gas station around where I live.

I have a Mobil gas station 1 mile away from my house, but Hess 93 octane FTW! American gas!!! And it's always cheaper than Mobil, so that always helps.

i use 93 as well and the tune does run much better on it. tried 87 once post-tune and never looked back, it's like cancer now, avoid at all cost.

I prefer when the building is run down and they have a piece of tape that someone wrote "push here" on when the machine gets old and wore out.

Why not BP. Political or quality of gas? I use BP 91, it is AMOCO Gold. I always used AMOCO years ago when it was called "white" gas. It was unleaded but could be run in cars without problems even before cars were set up for unleaded gas.

This one time, at band camp, I ran diesel. :wtf:

I keed, 93 from Shell or 94 from Husky, I never have looked into the ethanol(I think) that Husky uses as an octane booster and if there's any downside to it.

93....usually from Chevron. I try and avoid places that buy oil from Venezuela, even though they tend to be a couple cents cheaper.

I use 91 from sunoco because they have 10% ethenol and we all know the more of that shit the crappier your car runs and more shitty the mpg's

i use shell. mostly because of the air miles... and theres 5 of them with in 3-5 min from my house 2 of them just down the road each way. never use less the 91 in mine

I am using 89 Octane with 10% I figure its about to snow here and I am not racing anyone. We do have 1 gas station that has CONCO 93 octane and another that has BP 92. I use the 92 in my Buick because I do not get any knock(which makes me believe it is higher than 92) than when I use the 93 octane from the other gas station. I hve to use 91+ for my buick because of the chip and modds that are on it. So I use 89 in the winter and 92 in the summer for my SS/TC.

Take an SS/SC or SS/TC, throw some 87 in there and go do a bunch of wide open throttle pull's. Then tell me how your car is doing.

you fail. and obviously, like most people, you don't understand what octane is, and how it affects your car.

2.2 use regular if you want.

if you have a 2.4, or especially a 2.0 and use regular but are not tuned for it you're an idiot. you're getting LESS GAS MILEAGE with your regular gas, which makes the "savings" not even worth it. you're better off using what the car is designed to run on.

no your gas was still cheap when the prices sky rocekted... maybe its cheaper because you guys get paid less when working... so they make everyone "affordable" except for cigs... but gas and booze have always been cheap comparred to ANNNNYONE else lol. so when you think your prices are high for gas... just come over the bridge and fill up. lol

Yeah, the E10 shit here in NY is everywhere. I'd rather use traditional gas.

I also keep a 5 gallon tank in the trunk filled. It's my reserves.

you're kiddin me, right? this whole statement is ass backwards  new jersey has the 2nd highest average income per state in the country first off :cssNET: 2nd off gas was like 5 dollars a gallon a few months back. people from jersey move to pennsylvania because it's so much more affordable.

but other than that, i never like to complain about gas prices, most of the time i don't even look. since it dropped so suddenly recently, i take a look just because i get nervous that they're putting in regular. First time i filled up and got a receipt for like 20 dollars i was like whoa buddy what the fuck

93 octane here :)

most stations i fill up at (BP, Sonoco, Hess) only offer 87, 89 and 93. even if i see 91 i go 93 it's only 5 cents more usually.
