09ss/tc vs 08 tiburon gt
on friday i raced an 08 tiburon. raced him three times and beat him all three times. my ss is bone stock and the tiburon had a cai from what i could here. the first two races i beat him by 2 1/2 cars. the third race was the best though. he wanted to go to 140 on the highway, i agreed, 2nd gear 40 mph launch. i didn't have a chance to get to 40 before he started blowing the horn, so i left at 30mph and he had a 1/2 car lead, by the time i got to 115 i was already 5 cars up on him, i threw on the hazards and that was it, no need to go any faster, i already killed him.
Yup, the GT/SE Tibs only have a 2.7L V6 making 171hp.
My ex had a 6-speed SE V6 w/ a Fujita CAI and a Tanabe twin-hyper medallion cat-back, and it was no contest for my 2.4SS, which at the time had my current setup (CA header, XTC 2.5" de-cat dp, ARK N2 cat-back), but I was un-tuned back then.
So an SS/TC should be able to beat a V6 Tiburon no problem considering my 2.4SS has no problem beating them.

I laugh at them and let them 'bitch me down'
Who cares? At the end of the day the only thing that will eventually change is your insurance from getting tickets.
NIce!!! Have you guys seen the new Tib? that headlight change is ugly as ****! Also, it is pretty sad that there V6 still only produce 172 with 181lb torque. If they would of updated that engine then the Tib would somewhat be noticed. lol, ugly as car.

ok, careful what you say. Hyundai has come a looooooong way from, lets say the mid 90's. Oh God, I personally experienced their cars back then and I can say that there headed in a good direction. Now, as for performance and saying that "Hyundai has never made anything fast, you might want to rethink what you said. Hyundai Genesis ring a bell. Things faster than anything of its class that BMW or Mercedes offers. I think they are heading in a good direction as of right now. Oh, not to mention the Genesis Coupe that actually looks great, has a 4 cycle 223hp turbocharged or the optional 3.8 V6 with 310hp. Really if you look at it, its a copy cat of the G37. Just take that H off the front and place Infiniti and the average joe will not know. Still its going to sell well, cheap with a price tag of 24,000 and 26, 000 for the V6, people will be buying most cause of the looks and warranty, unfortunetly.

not true at all, there are a few modded tibs that have put down over 300whp and over 400whp making anywhere from 14second 1/4 miles to 10 second 1/4 miles..........the engine itself can take one hell of a beating if u get the 2.0L, a very strong block compared to the V6 which has a shitty block and if u mod it your looking to replace engine parts before putting down any real power. I had the 2.0L and I bagged the **** outta that thing day in and day out, redline probably 20+ times a day and the engine pulls just as hard today as the first day i got it, well lol, it's modded so of course it pulls harder
Either way, the ss/tc is a 10000000000x better car than my Elantra was. SS/TC FTMFW!!!
New Tiburons, while beautifully styled, are slow. 171 hp from a V6 is unacceptable these days... I'm not sure why because they're not overly heavy, about 1300 kilograms like the Cobalt. Probably the reason the Tibby has been axed. Not gonna lie, I'm kind of a fan of them.
