No they were not offered until 07 sadly.

I think you can buy an adaptor though to make it work in the back.

07+ has the jack port in the front.

I'm not certain if this is the exact unit required but its something like this...

u can get a personal audio link from GM it works w/ 06 and up. i just put one in my car and i saw on the directions something about putting it in an 06 so thats one route u can go if u want to keep ur stock radio plus u can control the ipod w/ the radio controls. so if u got an 06 thats what i would do

I was under the impression you plug them into the cell phone charger port under the stereo. thats the only way to do it on 05 and 06 i think. Least on mine thats only way i know.

Unfortunately, the '05 and '06 head units have no auxiliary input. SOL unless you get a new h/u or go the FM modulator way (bleh...)

OR the thing Red2.4SS posted... I'm interested in this cause FM transmitters suck I've tried so many in my Cav and quality is just nowhere near CD.

It's horribly expensive.... same price as a cheap h/u with aux-in. Plus, I don't remember seeing such a port on the back of my h/u...

I've heard with some of these things you can retain your steering wheel controls for your iPod and that sounds really nifty, can aftermarket h/u do that?

yes they can, you just need a Pac module for it. on most decks it can hook directly into the back of the deck, or if your deck doesnt have that there is a module with an infered transmitter so it works like a remote

Damn... well I like stock looking decks I probably wouldn't mind paying $138 for iPod capability since I've paid $100 for a supposedly top end FM transmitter in the past. Fail.

there is no such thing for the 05-06 cobalts. the gm PAL only works with the 07+ bowtie radios with the aux port in the front anyway.

the only thing that would work "best" would be "fm direct adapter" like used/ offered in sat radio applications

I thought so. I didn't feel like getting my stock deck out from the garage to check. I had a feeling you'd come in to clear that up.
