You don't need a breather filter for your oil cap. It doesn't do anything. It won't vent crankcase pressure; I don't think a whole lot of pressure builds in the head on the valvetrain side.

But I'm guessing people drill the oil cap then screw in a brass pipe fitting or something else then connect a hose that fits with the breather and the fitting. There are locking hose fittings but you could just use gasket sealant on the fitting inlet and it should work but don't get it in the valvetrain. Don't put the hose in the head too deep as well. This is an Ace hardware mcGuyver project that doesn't have any results.

Um, it does have results.

Lower crankcase pressure is always better.

You mean to tell me there isn't a PCV on this car cause guess what, there is.

What results? Does it reduce boost? Under 20 pounds of boost it's not going to have any effect. It's a waste of money like an oil catch can. Yeah you don't really want oil running around in your intake but does it really add anything? If it were necessary to increase longevity it would be that way from the factory.

Okay killa, I actually sat there and read it, and have had this discussion on other forums in the past as well. I even used to use it. Are you going TVS, or turbo? I'm pretty sure witt knows what he's talking about, and if you refer to posts #7,8, and 9 he agree's that you don't really need this unless you're going way out of your way.

So what exactly are you trying to do here? Is your dipstick blowing out? And if you really want to find one of these to put on the car. Go to autozone, advanced auto, any local car shop will have them for about $15.

no actually they wont.
because our oil filler cap is an oddball screw in type.

as for "it wont help you" well....you need to dig a little more my friend.
try starting with the GM build book. and feel free to inform them that they are wrong when they suggest that anything above stage 3 pulleys requires extra crank case ventilation.

to the OP:

your welcome.

Looks good matched with that TVS!

I'll post a pic when I get mine in a couple days...

**** actually... Looking at the ZZP one... It kinda looks taller than the PFYC one, anybody have the ZZP one and can verify it fits with the hood closed?

It IS cheaper than the PFYC one... It's only $29.99 for it. Cost me $39.07 out the door. Def worth a try... As long as it fits... Think it looks too tall...?

if zzp says it's for the cobalt it will fit. If it doesn't you can always return it or be creative.

May be a problem, remember the ZZP one is not made for the Cobalt nor is the PFYC one, but it just happens to be shorter. The PFYC one looks to be of a better quality too
