I used Nate's pulley puller. It made the job easier but it was still the biggest pain in the ass project I have ever done on the car. I won't ever do it again.

find a long bolt that threads into the supercharger. thread a nut onto the bolt and put a washer on it, thread the bolt all the way into the shaft on the blower without the nut touching the pulley. once the bolt is in as far as itll go, use a wrench and spin the nut. this will push the pulley onto the shaft without damaging the threads. this is the way gm does it when they install a stage 2 kit.

How far does the hub need to go onto the shaft? We got 1/2" left for the shaft to be fully through the hub

I used the ZZperformance puller.

Nothing else would work.

It's a pain in the ass.

Yeah that's what we did all night last night, we got it down to an 1/8th of an inch from the shaft being flush! The threads in the shaft are starting to wear though, so we are trying a machine shop. I hate this ya'll it's scaring me to death..am I overreacting?

BTW, thanks a lot guys for all of your help, really I do appreciate it!

It shouldn't be that bad . Sounds like you got a bad hub thats too tight on the shaft.

Yeah that's what we were thinking. He got a power steering pulley puller this morning, so maybe that 1/8th inch should go easy.

Damn i was ganna give you the redneck way.... cutting torch/ blow torch and pilers, Heat it red hot expanding the metal. Grab it with the pliers slide it on, is it cools it centers perfectly and was quite easy. Thats how we did mine. took bout 20 min to cool infront of the a/c.

took the 20 minutes and took a dr. pepper break. oh yeah we work hard at my job

I think I know what's going on with the Stage 2 style hubs I've been making. The normal hubs I make are thinner, there by allowing the material to expand easier as the hub is pressed on. Since the stage 2 centering portion is much thicker I'll start making the bore about 0.002" larger for the stage 2 style hubs. Sorry for the issues guys!

Nate
