Post Air Bags/Struts

I have made up my mind and decided when I start my Auto school at UNOH I am going to do some sort of air ride. Not sure what set up is the best though. I dont really care about how fast it goes up and down, I just want it to where I can set it down when stopped and when I drag I could drop the front and lift the rear. So with Hp goals of 400+ with hard launchs at times which would be best?

The only problem I see is cars with "bags" dont handle well and arent meant for racing.... Maybe go with an adjustable coilover system would be good, granted you cant lower it on the "fly".

Drag Bags & Front coilovers FTW, if you are looking to drag. The other thing is that Air systems will add weight to your car around 150lbs worth.

Well, 1/4 mile racing is fun for a few seconds but once you start getting out to big track that actually have curves you'll forget all about drag racing. If you read any magazines like Sportcompact, Modified, Super Street etc etc I've never once seen them bag a car for any type of racing....

I am looking to get about 350Hp+ its not going to be a daily driver but I still want stability when I bank a turn or take someone off the line.

Actually, my entire kit weighs less than 50lbs, i used the kit from airliftcompany. My entire kit came packaged in one box, and the shipping label said 49lbs.
I don't know how it would do with racing, but i think handling and ride quality are great, and the added beni's of being able to lift er up when a big dip in the road or steep parking lot entrance comes up or drop er down and look sexy is worth it's weight in gold. My ONLY complaint is that my strut mounts rattle alot, that i definitly don't like. I plan to take it back apart this winter and inspect and replace anything necessary to stop the rattling, other than that, i love it...

Nice I might call him. I would like to see some pics and/or a review from you, if possible. I just need the parts and I can install. I have a old friend I havent seen in about 3 years that owns Hit 'em up Hyrdolics here in Columbus. I think I am going to stop by there.

I got to thinking and I am buying new rims next spring and they will be 19x9 front and 19x9.5 rear. Will this cause issues with bags/struts? I know if I were to go coil-overs with this wheel I have to roll the fenders.

TRUE- they aren't meant for racing

FALSE- the ride is MUCH better with bags. I have an 05 SSSC with 20inch konig unknowns that rides like a dream. I just put my stocker 18s on and it rides like ***** compared to the 20s

i wouldnt say they arent for racing...just like everything else u need to research and make the RIGHT decision..i had bags on my car and it handled by far better than before. i had strut bags in the front and tiny bags in the rear..i tore up the canyons alot and it performed...i didnt need a strut tower bar or a rear sway bar because the bags didnt allow body roll...

nice. I have been trying to find something along the lines of air struts. To me the sound more stable but I cant find a kit for my car. Then again once I get into school. Either my self and/or some new friends from school can help with my "True Build".

if you want air struts, check out easystreetair.com they have kits you can custom make to fit your car. just figure out the stroke length you want and you can get one real cheap.
