from a dig and a roll i beat him. mods in my sig. he has K&N intake, headers(not sure what), full magnaflow exhaust w/ no cats. and he also said some valvesprings.

first race, i had him by about 2 cars at 90mph. second race i had him but about 2.5-3 cars by 100mph.

my lt1 with eaders cbe and cai put over 330 to the ground and about the same torque...

i took my friends 99 Z28 4 times yo good runs mark, i was suprised i beat him as bad as i did, 1st time was from a low speed so his torque pulled him hard and i only beat him by half a car the last 3 was about 2-3 length from about 55. and i just learned 98-02 v8 camaros had ls1's did not know that

 

that was a poor running lt1, should be mid 13's at that point. Probably bad opti

not being a dick but a stock ss/sc is nothing special, the lt1 should have walked if it was running right. I would know ive ran one same mods when i was 2.5" pullied on the m62 and i pulled 3 cars

LT1's were only rated 275 to the flywheel which is roughly 230whp. and hes also about 250lbs+car. whereas i'm only 200+car. so if i dynoed 231 to the wheels....

but whatever it is. a race is a race. and he thought he could beat me, so we raced. but what would you say to me beating a '96 C4 6speed and a '97 mustang with a lightning motor swap??

 

they were underrated much like the ss/sc they typically dyno 255~270 rwhp stock and over 300 with the mods you listed....

likei said with mine i dynoed 330 to the wheels so i know they were underrated and they love mods i gained around 30hp with the headers

 

lt1 is a great engine, just costly to build and a bitch to work on , especially in an f/body. They make great power and are a testiment to the sbc..only bested by the lt4.

 

OMG, are people giving you the whole driver this, driver that crap?! Please, LT1's are a decent run for stockers...They were fast for their time, but now...It doesn't surprise me a bit that you won, and congrats. You have the better car all around IMO.

Not saying it didnt happen, it obviously did on video no problem. Im just saying its a little weird thats all numbers dont add up much

Nice run..good job by putting him in his place and for showing that a fourbanger can do some serious damage now these days. even if we are stock.. If noone believes you I go up to Coweta/Wagoner area pretty often. Ill come up there and be a witness.

Do you know anyone around the Sapulpa, Tulsa area that drives a wingless yellow ss/sc? I was merging on from creek turnpike to 44 going to okc the other week and they went flying by me. It was a pretty clean looking balt.
