Buyers Be Aware!

Well i recently was told at work that Brad from Double Z Automotive had his 2007 Cobalt SS/SC stolen.
its the only GM Stage 3 Cobalt in Nova Scotia at the time.
Anyways when i went to get a part for my car i guess theres a rumor that i got pulled over and was told my hood and trunk was stolen but i damn well know they were not sense i bought them off a friend, so Chad i need a little thing stating prof of purchase please. just in case i do get pulled over.
anyways on top of it all.
After looking on Kijiji, theres a carbon fiber hood and trunk for sale, GM Stage 3 kit, 20" black 5x110 rims with 235/30/20 tires, Full SS S/C Leather interior, Full Black Inteerior, Full SS S/C Body kit, Full Drifter 2 body kit, and motor, tranny, and ecu for sale.
so i wanted to let you all know about this and to be carefull, i reported the adds on Kijiji as possible stolen goods, were the motor axels tranny, and ecu and everything for a motor swap was only 2,000$ seems STOLEN to me.
so yea watch out. and watch your cars sense we go people stealing slowbalts....

last time i talked to brad he sold his car to some guy! cause he was gonna part out his parts to me, and he did keep his drifter 2 bodykit he had for it because he was gonna trade me straight up for my drifter bodykit i had for my 03 cavy! so i donno if this is a rumour or true??? maybe buddy's check bounced? or something but as far as i know buddy paid signed over the lease and gave him $6000 cash for the extras

a while back, I cought someone taking a photo of my liscence plate, and some pics of the wheels!!! I was not happy, especially when he took off when he saw me coming! luckily this happened nowhere near where I live, but just the same I now use the club on the car when its parked at night! I know they are pretty east to defeat, but its a little extra deterrent!

Dan, a guy i work with is i guess goo buddys with brad, and brad is his sister-in-laws husband so hes the one who told me, he maybe wrong but i dunno, but i did see all these things on kijiji so i dunno whats up.
i was also told other things but i am not gonna open my mouth about them, i just wanted to let everyone know that there is some scatchy things on kijiji
like the full black on black ss/sc leather interior for only $350.00 like what do you think about that when from GM i was told the front seats are $700 - $1,500 and not sure about the rear.

stealing them is eaiser then you think..
getting away with it in the long run isnt.
after your onstar trial is up they delete you from the system, a friend of mine had onstar in his truck and when his trial was up onstar came on and said "this is onstar, your trial is now up if you are in any need of help, we will not help, thank you for using onstar"
so once its up they cant use it i guess.. but you can also rip out the factory deck witch onstar uses, or simply cut some wires.
also you gotta remember when using an ofter market deck alot of people dont want to spend the extra $250.00 for a wiring harness and then cut and hack wires together, witch will by pass all steering wheel controls as well as on star.
and when you are using the right wiring harness you can simply not plug the onstar back in so then the GPS System is no longer working.
as for the car its self GM was smart, there is over 60 car ID numbers thru out the car. under the carpit, under the floor, behind the dash, under the hood, under the trunk, under the headliner, and so many more spots, as for the ID being grinded off and painted over thinking they will get away with it they are very wrong!
the ID's are edged into the paint and when the use of a Black light they will glow and show the number, the only way to get rid of this is by cutting the metal out and repling it, and even then dont you think something be up when you check or the piggys look and see this was replaced.
so yea there are ways around it and so on.
its much easier to take it in the woods and cut it up and sell the parts off it then trying to re-sell the car.

You forgot about barrying and burning the shell in the woods.. that way no color is shown & shortens degrading time.. pour salt all over it too like a 25 lbs bag..

No not always..
i was playing my music one day waiting for the rain to stop and then my bat died lol so i pusshed it and poped the clutch the security light came on and everything but i still drove it fine lol so i dunno..
but yes you are right the chip in the key is a hardont o get by, but if somone wants something its not hard to do.
ALSO another thing about our keys is they all match. its the "CHIP" inside them that allows it to start the car (as i been told) but theres a way ou can get the key cut, and then all you do is opent he door put it int he ijntition and do the code witch GM tells you how to do it..
and if i am wrong about what i was told about the keys being cut the same.
all you have to do is somehow get ahold of that roadside assistance card that comes with all 2007 GM cars and they have whats called "key something" i forget now.. but yea it gives you the code you need to get a key cut, been there done it..
and alot of times people leave that in the glove box so when somthing happens and they dont drive with their wallet they have it somewhere in the car. so there is ways around it, and good theves now adays know every trick there is in a book.

and chad your insurance goes up dont it?

the anti theft protection that comes in the car locks up the ECU when you try to start the car without using a key to roll the tumbler and wont let the car start. The car has to be flat bedded or towed away.

A budy of mine saw a flat bed truck trying to hook up to his lazer blue SS/SC and walked out his door with a shot gun in hand (this was around midnight if i remember his story correctly about it). He said he never seen a flat bed pull away from a car so fast. lol.

its a good thing my car is registard in the state of michigan. so when they run the plate it will show an address that is 800+ miles away, lol. The club takes about 30 seconds or less to get by. By law the steering wheel is made to be the weakest component and a hack saw will take 30 seconds or less to cut the wheel. Now the Auto Lock on the other hand (if you have an automatic trany, wont shift out of gear unless the break pedal is applied) placed under the break pedal will take 3hrs+ to hack saw through it. By law the break pedal is the strongest part in the cab of a car.

yeah I know its almost useless to prevent the theft of a car, but if the theif has to spend that extra 30 seconds to take it, perhaps he'll just move on to another car somewhere.
