those would be 245/40/18 ET Street Radial II's. ET Street Radials only go up to 17". II's go up to 18

I think a 224 would hook just fine. Once I get a bit over the 300hp range I would go full slick. I have pulled 2.2 60' times on stock tiers. Were do you guys buy your slicks?

A drag tire like the BFG's are called "axle snappers" for a reason, they're as close as you can get to a slick for\with good street driveability and last about 4500-6500 mi .

You don't understand

First off it's all they make in their largest 17" tire.
BFG stops at 225/45-17 then it's up to the 18's and they start at a 275 series.... MT has the only tire reasonable in size to\for a stock SS\TC wheel......245\40-18

The BFG's are real sticky and you don't need a wide tire you need a tire made to grip, like a "pitbul on the neighbors arm" kind of grip and BFG's are as close as a slick with good milage wear. Plus the wider you go the more rolling wind resistance is created, you dont want to big or to thin a tire up front even on front whl drive...
I personally 'am looking to do a wheel downgrade to 17" so I can stuff some BFG's aka: "axle snappers" on my car...With the only street DOT drag tire on the planet to earn that kind of nick name.. you don't need a wide tire, just know how to warm them up and that's all she wrote... these puppies will stick nearly as goos as a slick.... I've tried every DOT Drag radial on the planet in high powered front drivers and rear drivers and I will not do anything other than BFG's and the second\last choice are MT's

Does anyone know the specs on the 17" SS wheel asfar as offset, smallest spacer required and such. Or mabe even another 17" that will work better and be lighter and cheaper. I was looking at some 17" adr wheels on ebay that are cheap but not sure if the off set is better or worse.

Venomous:42 off set

Interspeed: 42 off set, 20lbs

The M/T radials ARE better than the BFG's. Don't waste your time with BFG's.

Find a site with faster cars and ask them. You will see that they use M/T. There is a reason for that.
