View Full Version : Twinscrew information
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 11-27-2008, 12:09 AM Well we all know about this project and I wanted to give you guys some info.
First off, our test car has over 20K on it so far without any problems. We took it to the track late in the fall and had a issue with a coil pack but still managed to run a 13.8 at 105mph, this with a 2.2 60' (we couldn't push it off the line as the coil pack would cause mis fire).
Now here's the deal, we have 20 kits made (minus the supercharger), but they are at our vendor's machine shop. Reason they are all there is we still owe them a pretty penny for all the work.
So what we would like to offer is a price for all the pieces which come with the kit and you can get the supercharger from PSE. However if we get enough people interested then we can get a better price from PSE (the superchargers come from Sweden so the more we order, the lower the price)
I have been driving the test car for a while now and I would say that the most distinct feature of the Twin Screw is the instant power at very low rpms. I personally love it and have driven many other boosted cobalts to compare to.
Currently 2K5SS/SC? is installing his kit and should have some pics and vids.

Perfect.disguise 11-27-2008, 12:16 AM Explain why you think some one should pick this over the TVS.

low rpm power, sounds like a bat out of hell
Perfect.disguise 11-27-2008, 12:21 AM Whats the diff lowend/topend power compared to a nice TVS set-up like Areas? I don't know if it has been posted but whats the size of it and how much does it all cost?
lsjwannabe 11-27-2008, 01:06 AM 1.2l the only thing it does better than a tvs is disapate heat.
ColeJJones 11-27-2008, 01:23 AM top end power... thats all im worried about
Eng@RebelAutoWorxs 11-29-2008, 10:52 PM yes, it has top end too, but down low is simply amazing
383_Stroker 11-29-2008, 10:58 PM Screw Chargers for the win!.. (Have had a Whipple on a truck for several years now).. Cooler charge.. starts making boost in the SC rather than just paddling it through and making the boost in the intake..
ColeJJones 11-29-2008, 10:58 PM so which one makes more power again? not looking to stress my tranny on down low torque here. top end hp.... which one makes more
bluechevycobaltss 11-29-2008, 11:01 PM click
sneaky 11-29-2008, 11:03 PM my thoughts take them how you please
twin screw has better intake temps and better low end grunt but according to the graphs they had last the top end power was a little lacking
TVS had about the same maybe less efficent for internal temps, so so low end but amazing top end for the type displacement it was.
The TVS was built in mind as a real aftermarket replacement. Twin screw to me is more of a novelty than a real power maker. It was compareable to the Eaton M62 but with slightly more low end grunt and better intake temps. Otherwise the same if you ask me. The twin screws they had won't allow for anything smaller than a 2.7 I think before you were killing it's efficentcy.

The TS does make good power! We got 295 hp with a 2.86"/72.6mm pulley on a stock motor with intake, DP and cat back and unfinished tune. Not to mention that the IAT2's increased only 13*F. Most guys with the TVS never go lower than 2.95"/75mm due to heat concerns let alone 2.7"/68.5mm. You show me a M62 making the same power with the same mods.
quadracer0387 12-02-2008, 12:37 PM us tvs guys cant go lower than a 2.9 because we dont have enough fuel pressure without a return style system.... 60s run out of juice
simple mods can help with cooling to get the temps down

any of you that know 2K5SS/SC? know that he has always wanted his twinscrew back, and this may be our chance to see it.
leave the bashing alone for a while, let rebel try to give some results before you flame them. they've always treated me well, and worked hard to get me what i needed.

I'll wait for 2K5 to get his back, he's been waiting for a hell of a time.
Then i'll make a conclusion.

you want a conclusion? talk to members of the Ontario Cobalt Club and ask why Mase (RAW)
has been removed as a supporting vendor and banned from the site...
the fact he is still in business with people in the states boggles my mind...but then again you dummies keep buying from J- Body Performance too
.....hey mace while you are at it can you do some more R&D
and market that stupid snowcone you have on the end of your ridiculous exhaust!?
BoomInIt 12-07-2008, 02:46 PM I still haven't recieved my working kit. ITS BEEN 2 YEARS !!!!!Guess the customer is not important since my money has already been taken. and i sent Eng an email about this issue a week or so ago an instead of responding to me or contacting a ALREADY PAID CUSTOMER, he posted general sales information on this product....
I'm honestly agrivated, I HAVE ALREADY ASKED FOR A WORKING KIT OR REFUND an was DENIED A REFUND AND PROMISED A BRAND NEW WORKING KIT. I feel as though I've been strung along for the last year an a half being told by email an reading on this forum that they are still working on this project an I will recieve a brand new kit. AN THAT MONTH AFTER MONTH THE KIT IS ALMOST FINISHED, THEY ARE WORKING OUT THE LAST KINKS. Infact Im STILL waiting on the other half of my damange cost STILL OWED TO ME BY rebels first defective kit.
their websites not up an running an theres No business phone number to get in contact with them?
I am a victim of hurricane katrina an lost EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER OWNED my neighborhood drowned in 22 feet of water. Everything is gone except for my cobalt ss an this kit was actually a gift to me from my girlfriend to help better what I do have left.
I just want to see things made right Im tired of dealing with the stress of the possibility this company could be a scam considering the length of time that has passed with no resolution.
Now Im thinking I Just want a refund....
HiSpdPursuit 12-07-2008, 02:50 PM boy oh boy....here i go again sounding like a broken record..but
I TOLD YOU SO!!!! AHHAAHAH
BoostedYards86 12-07-2008, 02:54 PM Once again this is the wrong T/S for our application. w100ax is what we need and it is not out yet. Been looking into this for a while now. We could use a larger pulley spinning the blower slower to create the same amount of boost effectively killing our little heat problem.
Area47 12-07-2008, 02:58 PM The TS does make good power! We got 295 hp with a 2.86"/72.6mm pulley on a stock motor with intake, DP and cat back and unfinished tune. you really don't have a clue do you.
BoostedYards86 12-07-2008, 02:59 PM get em area
HiSpdPursuit 12-07-2008, 03:39 PM Boominit that is a really unfortunate story and im sorry you have to deal with people like that but unfortunately you probably will never see your money back or your working kit...
Perfect.disguise 12-07-2008, 03:49 PM So your saying "he" designed/fabricated the twin screw in his basement?

chris88z24 12-07-2008, 04:48 PM Wow.
Sexsi-SS 12-07-2008, 05:04 PM Dont understand how RAW can even be in business still....those poor people out there that they have fucked over....its really unfortunate.....
I've seen it first hand.....
2K5SS/SC? 12-07-2008, 05:19 PM Um... Well, I do have the twinscrew kit sitting on my floor in my bedroom. Had it there for about a month now, but I've been busy putting my Integra back together. As for me installing it, that is still to be determined. I'm not really sure what I want to do yet, but either way I do not want to be hounded or rediculed again about it. If it goes back on, it goes on in my own time and not to pander to the needs of everyone else on here. :twothumbs
Rodimus_Prime 12-07-2008, 05:28 PM more low end power isnt really something these cars need, i find myself cutting 50% or more of boost because it wont hook up
slowswap 12-07-2008, 05:38 PM more low end power isnt really something these cars need, i find myself cutting 50% or more of boost because it wont hook up

i guess my 340+ on 17 psi with a tvs sucks too
:(
sad panda is sad
lsjwannabe 12-08-2008, 02:25 PM I only made 336 whp but i also trapped 113 and some change short shifting to second at 4k
sleeperbalt 12-12-2008, 01:15 AM I dont think anyone is going to buy the twin screw kit simple because there are more reliable companies making great products( Harrop TVS, Hahn Turbokits, ZZP twincharger). There is no room anymore for people how cant deliver!
But thats just my 2 cents
G85 SS 12-12-2008, 01:25 AM Well then. 3 pages of wasted time I just went through....bleh
