Hack's LS2

I figured I'd make a thread since I haven't had the Cobalt for awhile now. Got rid of my old cobalt about a month ago, then I gave it to my parents who traded it in for a 2009 Malibu.

I picked up a 2005 Pontiac GTO, Phantom Black Metallic, Black Leather, 6 Speed, 41k miles

Performance mods are:
---K&N Intake
---Kooks Longtubes
---Kooks Catted Mids
---Magnaflow X-pipe
---Basanni Catback
---Speed Inc. Dyno Tune

Appearance mods are:
---SAP Front Bumper
---SAP 18" Rims
---Limo tinted Windows (don't know %)
---Tinted '06 Tails
---Tinted Sidemarkers

It made 385RWHP/388RWTQ on the rollers.

Taken last week:

I also have a short video I made, you can see it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVV2p5TXT1o

Overall, I love the car, although it has some SERIOUS traction issues.

I also just had winter rims and tires put on. I hate the rims, but they were a gift from my parents, and I really don't care what they look like as long as they work for my snow tires.

I don't plan on doing much more to the engine, the car really just needs some suspension work to put the power to the ground

Dude, I love bucket seats. I feel like I'm driving a ******* minivan whenever I drive a different car.

I also love the attention, everywhere I go people stare and ask questions.

The acceleration is nuts. Nothing can put it in words.

You should try cruising around in an M3.

Oh, I do. I'm sick of the IRS though, need drag bags and stiffer springs. The tires LOVE to spin. I just leave the traction control on for my safety.

I also like getting 20mpg avg city+hwy

One day when I crawl out from under this mountain of debt, i will own a real car. Until then as long as it runs and blows hot air in my face during the cold winter months, I don't care!

We should stop this thread jacking and continue this in your post.
I have 245s for summer tires. Next spring I'm going to have a buddy cut the fenders and get a set of 275s for out back.

Dude an IRS is the ONLY way to go! TRUST me! the handling is soooo much better then a solid axle. Try wider tires and dropping the presure a bit. No more then 30psi if you wanna hook up. Also learn to power brake it to heat em up. This is also done to make all those with FWD cars drool!

Check around you maaaay be able to do it with out cutting them just rolling them. Also offset helps too.

As for mileage I get around the same combined.

Haha, I don't need to use the brake. I can spin the tires easily without moving.

I'm keeping my SAP 18's, I'm going to paint them black before they go back on though.

Do it when you don't want your rear tires anymore. TRUST me you'll love it! Also you need to hit a BIG empty parking lot and do some free style drifting. Almost nothing can put a smile on your face more then sliding completly sidways with the rear tires just boiling of the rims at 60 mph! Try it once and you'll be hooked, its like crack.
