want to lower my car but i have a few questions

I'm thinking about putting Eibach Sportline Springs on my car because it needs lowered really bad!! If I lower my car will the wheels scrape the wheel wells at all? If i buy the springs how much would it cost someone to put them on?

no it wont scrap the wheel wells....if you have the right size rim and tire...which i hope you do...and i payed 150 for my install...

eibach is good but only if you really want performance...i wanted a lower look and still a nice ride...eibachs are great but i went with progress because of ride quality....your call mane

good luck

Call some local shops and ask. How are we supposed to know how much someone will charge you? It could be 5 dollars or 500 dollars.

The wheels won't scrape.

Enjoy blown struts after little while with them being installed. I know mine went after 2,000 miles and RedSSNA's went after 10,000ish miles.

Do it right and get coilovers! Expensive but worth every penny. I learned that the hard way. My car rides like absolute crap and RedSSNA's doesn't handle to good unless we inflate his drag bags.

Lowering springs: These NOW come in linear and progressive springs. They are not adjustable, so what you put on is really what you get unless you wanna pay money to buy more stuff to try and adjust em. This, in an aftermarket sense, is the “low-cost” way of lowering a car. All it really involves is a change of springs, but strut change is also HIGHLY recommended. But sins there are no struts and shocks out for this car yet I would keep the drop to less then 1.5" front and back for both the SS and the base.
Taken from suspension 101 thread.

It's more a of a safety hazard then anything. If all it effected was ride quality I would tell people to do whatever they want.

I'm strict when it comes to other peoples safety on the roads. eg. blown struts, bald tires, HID bulbs in the WRONG projectors, etc.

Taken from suspension 101 thread.
He's right on that one. The eibach springs are great at first. Car handles better and I mean the drop looks great for sure. But after a while the shocks and struts will let you down and your car will get bouncy and when thrown into a corner at high speeds will not perform as well as it should. I have a set of drag bags right now and they kind of help but I will have a set of coilovers in the spring and then the real fun begins. Moral of the story, don't cheap out on suspension because you'll only have to do it again.

Does Koni make anything for these cars? Those are the only struts that will withstand the lowering springs for a while, but they still won't hold up forever. 99% struts are not made to operate properly at a lowered right height.

What would be a good spring / strut combination? Dang i was under the impression you just throw the new springs on and you got a better ride and thats all you gotta do. I got some nice wheels but I'm always bashed "dude you need to lower your car" over and over.. I'm wondering if its worth it now cuz my car has to last me like 5 years and i don't want to suspension blowing...

That's another option but with Koni's being over $600 for the set of 4 and then the over $200 cost of the springs themselves it's not really worth it. You might as well just buy coilovers which you can pick up for under $1000 if you want a cheaper set or don't mind slightly used and know that you have the full package and for the most part a better overall ride quality and safety factor.

Save dude! If you want something enough, you'll find a way to get the money. Do side jobs for people. Work OT if possible. Do odd jobs. Whatever it takes.
