Driving without IC pump?

For the second time in two years, my IC pump has died. My IAT2's are 125ish city and 165 on the highway. I have the ford lightning IC pump ordered but have to travel this weekend. Is it safe to drive at highway speeds without the IC pump (2.5 hour drive) or should I make other plans.

NO...... do not do it.... unless you trust yourself enough to stay out of boost for the whole 2.5 hour drive!

I've been driving with a bad pump for 6 mo because in between PCS , TDY and getting married. Granted I only run 9psi so it doesn't get hot, and I don't go into boost around base much with a 25mph speed limit just about everywhere....it's safe if you don't wind it up. Not recommended though.

when your car is running, look at the coolant resevoir, there should be coolant flowing into it

you'll know if it is, there will be a stream coming from the hose going into it, on the top
