Just wow. I was on the phone with my dad and said they are working on the die's right now for the Cruise and the dies hit the asymbly line in a year and he told me something i thought i would never hear :bye:
Aparently the Cruise Dies are going to be replacing the cobalt Die's and the cobalt will no longer be in production in 2 years. :bye:

i didnt know that. my heart just sank to my stomach when he told me that. he did give me some good news though, that his die maker team is almost done with the camaro dies :twothumbs

they have to make cobalt parts. Their is a law that they need to produce parts for i believe 7 years

they are pieces of equipment that are very very heavy. one top and one bottom side. then hydrolicly compressed with sheet metal inbetween the dies and the resaluted product would be, fenders, hoods, floor pans, rear quarters, trunks, ect ect ect.
a machine cuts the dies out via CAD program and he pretty much rubbs the dies with wetsand paper until its baby smooth and then ran under ultra violet light to show improfections and then fixed, if not, start over. he said it normally takes 2 weeks to get one half a a die to GM standards.
