Anyone jumping on the Dejon Intakes?
Anyone jumping on the Dejon Intakes?
I know that they are not a vendor, but I was wondering who is jumping on them now. Are there people that is just waiting for Hahn or others to put out a group buy on there intakes(when they come out) to get them maybe a little cheaper
soon as i got the mula i'm grabbin one
I think I wanna wait a litle bit find out whats going on with Injen and AEM before I make a decision. Im in no rush considering my financial situation. Especially wanna see whats going on with this Stage kit and what it comes with.
^^^x2 i'd love to wait for the stage kit to come out with a new intake too but i love my intakes and DEJON is a good company, should be a good QUALITY intake and the SRI should help with throttle response.
Knowing aem it'll probably cost around $300 and give zero benefit compared to any other intake. Hp gains are null and void due to the ecm controlling everything. A 3" pipe is a 3" pipe is a 3" pipe... no matter who makes it.
errrm no, with a good intake u will still see midrange gains but at peak torque it will be the same, even bottom end might pick up a tinny bit, either way it's bound to bring better throttle response.
A 3" pipe is a 3" pipe, what makes an intake from another company any better if they use the same 3" pipe? Could the added chrome net the extra power? Or could it be the aem sticker?
Again your hp gains are lost due to the ecm controlling the amount of airflow, you need to read up on how this ecm works because its nothing like the previous ecm's from gm or any other car manufacturer.
Normally when you'd improve the airflow in the intake or exhaust the ecm would add more fuel, but with this ecm it simply lowers the boost pressure so the airflow goes back to stock.

^^^that's why if i get an intake on my Cobalt i will be moved to the D-prep or D-mod class for auto-x next year. I want to be in D-stock for my first year of auto-x.
im gonna wait for the stage kits. seems like the smartest thing to do. However, i do agree that a intake is a intake. I still couldnt put one on unless i knew i was getting the midrange help and the HP gains on the top end. I wonder how much you would gain if the learn down feature wasnt on the TC

si senor....I'd be all over their SRI but my PCM finally adjusted for the more air flow on my custom SRI so as long as there is no CEL then I'll wait on their SRI and put money elsewhere......
......the ecm works to limit/control PEAK torque(not sure about how the HP is calculated in there) so with minor bolt ons like intakes/chargepiping, u will see gains, very minimal and your peak torque will end up the same as stock but low/midrange gains seem to be possible without a tune.

You get bumped up in classes because its not an oem part, even if you put on a 1" exhaust that will limit your power you'll get bumped up because its not a stock part.
Pick up some hoosier a6's, you'll need them.
Now your statement of the computer is generally correct, but the math based torque limiter is not infallible. There are small gains with typical bolt ons, but are severely limited in their potential by that computer.
they put the sensor closer to the filter...idno if you saw it but its on their site....im thinking about getting it but not sure to go with the K&N or the AEM dryflow witch one you guys think would be better ??

I personally prefer the dryflow. With the K&N you need to be careful not to over-oil it, or you can destroy your MAF. No worries about that with the dryflow. The dryflow also filters a bit better - K&N does allow quite a bit of fine dust into the engine. Many people have run with a K&N without issues, but it definitely doesn't filter as well. However, the K&N flows more air IIRC.
