Mine does not have it - 09 XFE

SAI exhaust manifold has a valve assy sitting on top of it and no company makes a header that replaces it. Also, the SAI has a tube running from the pump to the air filter box...not all aftermarket CAI/SRI intakes have a connection for it, so it limits your choices if you don't want to just stick a little filter on the end of it.

the K&N SRI has a place for that extra SAI tube

nope, you dont haz it :) unless they made it look different on the LAP, which i doubt. exhaust manifold shots would be the final factor to be positive, but im willing to bet you're SAI free

no... i have an '06 LS that USED to have it.
Im sure its still installed on any car with the CA emissions package or with one of the other state emissions packages

Yes its sill used, it does look a little different but still easy to spot. Every G5 at my local Pontiac dealer has it.

Well, you can also get an LSJ exhaust manifold and downpipe and remove it all and tune it out of the PCM. That is what I am doing for my supercharger build.

this all seems retarded and to much work. i guess im gonna wait longer to do a full freakin exhaust ..... i have an 09 ls xfe and it has sai..... gay....really gay.....

the sai is a little pain but not much. those little apc universal filters work great for protecting that sai line. I've got an injen intake and I love the sound and little added power.

Easiest thing to do is nothing....I dont have anything on my hose, I just left it alone. No issues in 17months.

Whats too much work? come on. You put the intake you want on and youre done, if you want a header you either buy one that works with SAI, or you buy what you want and get a tune, or you buy what you want and deal with a CEL every so often. Youre being a drama queen. :lol:

correction... maybe your LAP doesnt have sai... but mine does.. because of certain emission laws in certain states i believe that only those certain ones have them.

This would be any car built for those states, or any car that was not specifically labeled to be for sale in one state

ex. GM often builds random models assuming they'll be in demand somewhere even though there wasn't a specific order for that model at the time they started it

Actually, I live in PA and my car has the CA emissions. It all depends on what the sales department orders I guess.

Time I put a filter on mine I got a CEL. Ever since it's been off, I've been just fine.

Interesting to hear the different exepriences. I put a breather on mine and no CEL or anything.
