Question How do you tell if your cobat is a G85

ok honestly i never heard of the g85 package until yesterday...are they that much better? which cobalts are G85's? and how can you tell?

that works for 05-06s and early 07s however any 07s made after sep 06 do not have the recaros but have the lsd with the G85 option

you can tell by removing the spare tire cover and on the drivers side theres a sticker with all the codes its the 3rd or 4th line down but pretty much if theres a G85 down there it has it

thanks! dammit i have no idea, i bought my 07 used so idk if its an early 07 or not. damn i hope its a G85!

There is a tag on the top of the trans, you need a flashlight tho. It can bee seen from under the hood, not hard at all to find. You will see numbers and a barCode. If you dont see LSD...then you dont have it

Yes, 99% of the time Recaros = LSD. I say 99 because they could have been added aftermarket... but if you have an '07 all bets are off because only early ones had the Recaros. They kept the LSD and are still called G85 cars, and that LSD continued into the SS/TC.
