My car shuts off all electical components while driving.

Well I was driving my brother to school and I was cruising 40 mph and I hear that Bing sound the dash makes when you put your key in the ignition. I didn't think much of it but I noticed my radio went off for a few seconds then came back on. Thinking to myself maybe I hit the headlight switch. But a few minutes later I noticed my Fuel, Speedo, RPM, and the odometer were all shut off. All I saw was "Power Steering" on the DIC. After I dropped my brother off I restarted the car and everything went fine. But I did notice that everything was reset, Trip A.,B, mpg, and my oil life.

There weren't any CEL's during this either. Anything bad?

check your battery connection. Otherwise if it happens again i'd be worried. For now dont worry about it.

my 1st ss sc did that often.. i would be driving... and all of a sudden no gauge cluster... no power steering then randomly it would come back on before and after it was started up again.... but i totalled that cobalt lol sooo i got another one now and its not doing it...

i may be wrong... but i think there was some tsb on a pin fit or wire that goes into the pcm... i remember looking into it before i totatled mine.. but then again i cant remember its been almost a year

i think quite a few people have had this happen to them...were not the first lol
