Poll, would a 1/4 mile and dyno database interest you?

Hey guys. I haven't seen a 1/4 mile database, if there is one on this site, someone show me where? But I also have an idea on a "Dyno Database". We could separate the categories between the 2.0 LSJ, the 2.4, and the 2.2. Then, under each of those categories, we could list the stock dyno's (probably top 5 or so), and then modd'ed. I could just list there mods next to their numbers? As far as the 1/4 mile database, if we don't have one, we can again separate each engine class, and then separate the stock and the modde'd, with the mods listed next to them. Anyway, I'm curious to see how much interest there is in this before I do it. Thanks, take care.

I think its GREAT idea . Its a nice reference to see what other people are running with different mods in different parts of the country . Plus the bragging rights are nice , hehe . The dyno database is also a great idea , how many times is the question asked "waddaya think I'll dyno " Along with the info you posted add the type of dyno used too .

The databases can be pretty fun , back when the LT1 F-bodycars came out , and again with the LS1 there was always the race to see who could do what first , and it was cool to see the 1/4 times get qwiker and qwiker the longer they were out .

1/4 database is good. But the dyno database??? Dyno numbers are only for tuning. How would the top 5 stock dynos represent anything important???

I don't have a Cobalt, so I wouldn't be in it, but I do have a 2.2, and people with a 2.2 and my mods can not safely run a 1/4 mile so it would be nice to have an 1/8 mile database as well for them. I complete an 1/8 mile at 83mph, I'm sure I would climb 25mph in a 1/4 mile, thus throwing N20 into my engine at the limiter.......not good.

It would give us an overall idea on what kind of power we could expect to make with certain setups. Even though I agree on dyno's only being for tuning, and the track is where it's really at, be honest, most people still want to see what kind of power is being made. How many "trolls" have come on this site already asking if we've even hit the 300whp mark yet? Now, when outsiders come in, and want to learn what these cars are capable of, they can look at the dyno's and track times of stock and modd'ed cobalts and see for themselves.

excellent idea, i like it a lot, then maybe have contests for stupid stuff (like decals/shirts) for stuff like best 60ft stock/mod, best ET stock/mod, best mph stock/mod, highest dyno numbers stock/mod

i think this would be fun, there is another site like this i forget what it's called but its a 1/4 mile database for all cars and it's kinda cool to compare diff cars with diff mods.

there is ways of running a cav safely down the quarter, if you want to post this in 2.2L performance, people may be able to help you out with fixing that lil governer problem.

Well, obviously it's not the SAME idea, since I'm not talking about making my own on a different site.... It's alot easier just to have a "sticky" already on this site for everyone on here to view. Not quite as convenient having to try and find your name or last post, and pming you. And the dyno one was not your idea. I really don't care who wants to say it was their idea, I would just like to see it get done so I can start looking at it.

Yea the dyno wasn't my idea but on my forum i have a dyno section
Besides there is a sticky on redlineforums doesn't do to good because a lot of people put false info up and then a lot of other cars like srt's cavs etc post there times up to.

Dynos are all diferent..

The numbers would be useless to compare against each other.
