Question heated seat switches?????

I've looked behind my stereo a bunch of times and can't seem to find the plugs for the heated seat buttons. since the hook ups are under the seats , I figured these would be behind the dash aswell. Does anyone know for sure if they are, or does anyone have a picture of this area, who has heated seats, with the stereo out so I could possibly see which harness the heated seat buttons go to!

I would really like to know for sure if it is possible to hook up factory heated seats!

X2^^ When you pull the trim plate from around the center console the Seat control wires come with it and need to be disconnected before you can go any farther. If you do not have heated seats they are probably taped back onto the harness. Follow the passanger air bag indicator wire back to the harness and you should find 2 extra plugs, if not then it isn't wired for it.

so your saying that the airbag sensor plug comes from the same harness as the heated seat plugs...
is that correct?

If you still don't find it tomorrow I will pull the trim off and take photos of them for you. I just don't like to because it gets loose and I replaced all the clips after the final time I had it out. BUT seeing as you are a fellow Iowan, if I need to I will.......

okay well i looked today and there aren't any wires tucked away and the harness looks too tightly wrapped to have anykind of plugs under the tape...

i am bumping this up cuz I would really like to know if it is possible to install them...

I was looking and found that the heated seat fuse is actually installed in the underhood fusebox, and I pulled it out and found out that it is hooked up to power, using a voltmeter

you should be able to, if you look under the seats you should see a harness that isn't connected to anything. Thats the harness that would be plugged into the seats if you already had heated seats. Now as for the harness that goes to the switches they should be there you will have to do some searching though.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the dash or better yet a picture of the wires that go to the switches?

I dont have an actual picture of the connectors on the car but here's an image of what the connectors look like. Below the illustration is the colors of the wires per connector to maybe help you locate them.

Drivers:

Pin Wire Color Circuit No. Function

A PK 1501 Driver Heated Seat High/Low Signal

B GY 8 Instrument Panel Lamp Supply Voltage

C -- -- Not Used

D PK 339 Ignition 1 Voltage

E BK/WH 651 Ground

F L-BU 1462 Heated Seat Switch Signal

Passengers:

Pin Wire Color Circuit No. Function

A PK 1503 Passenger Heated Seat High/Low Signal

B GY 8 Instrument Panel Lamp Supply Voltage

C -- -- Not Used

D PK 339 Ignition 1 Voltage

E BK/WH 651 Ground

2007 Cobalt SS 2.4 Heated Seat install question

HI there, first time on this forum. I bought a 2007 Cobalt SS 2.4 Auto and it did not come with heated seats. I read on this site that it can be installed. So right now I have the bezel with the OEM heated hi and low switches. I found the extra plug under the seat ..I am guessing it is for heated seats from what I read. Now the question.
How would I wire the OEM heated seat switches from the bezel which I think have four wires to the universal heated set kit which have two wires?

Any suggestions would be great.

thx

Z

I added wiring to both the dash harness and the body harness to install factory heated seats. Its a big job. you have to completely disassemble the dash and interior. Since your vehicle appears to have the plugs under the seats, you wouldn't need to alter your body harness. I purchased a complete dash/body harness for scrap cost ($20) to pull out the necessary wires to insert into my stock harness.

Once you have procured your harness, you'll need to find the white and black connectors (circled in red). Follow and pull all those wires from your donor harness. you'll need to disassemble the connector ends on your donor harness (circled in blue) and remove the pins from them. take a photo of the connectors and the wire locations before you pull them out. There is also a gray wire going into one of the plugs of the BCM. That will be for you switch backlighting. There is power wire in a different BCM plug and ground terminal mounted to the dash as well. I had to run a wire to the under hood fuse block for power as well. I can't remember if that was in the body or dash harness though.

Actually, the blue circle on the right may not be the right one but the connector is in that general area

thank you rains_crusader, but I am affraid that is a bit beyond my skill level.
I thought it would be a easy wire job. I have purchased the bezel with the heated seat switches..see photo.
figured to buy the heated seat kit from ebay and just run power to those connectors under the seat and the other wires to the swtiches.

figured to buy the heated seat kit from ebay and just run power to those connectors under the seat and the trigger wires to the swtiches. Sorry for the simple minded wiring job.

Any aftermarket kit will work really. It's all a matter of wiring it and deciding where you want your switches. I don't know how big the switches are in those kits and I guess that would dictate if they will fit in the radio bezel. The radio trim with heated seat button delete might work but those delete buttons are rounded. You may have trouble getting the switches to sit flat.
