well its either a 460...havnt seen or heard of many of those or a 2.3 turbo...which seems to easy. or a 5.0 swap....the 460 weights more than the 5.0 indeed but im pretty sure (not positive) a 460 would do better at the track even with the weight diff. just need a stronger rear end...was thinkin 8.8 but thats not a cobalt thing and there beign lame and keep giving me a run around

the 460 can run when you put on a set of heads .
torque power of course.
i liked my 460 in my 68, but it was a tank on the street....had to make sure I timed my stops and turns a little more than with the small block.
for the money, and lb 4 lb , a small block will run with or ahead of the 460.
now a fe motor might do the trick...lol
8.8 is a great swap for any fox body and a 2.3 will run with the right turbo

right. im sure your aware but the 2.3 fox had just the regular 2.3 and a 2.3 turboed from factory the one im looking at is just a 2.3 non turbo....so if i put a turbo on that from what iv read it would only push about 3-5 psi of boost before ruining the pistons, something about the pistions beign forged... not really sure but there was a reason they released two seperate motors. where as the turboed engine from factory can push up to 12 psi i belive is what i read may be inaccurate im not really positive on the numbers. but thats not really reliavent i already have a 4banger i want a v8 in the stang two things stoppin me right now. the person selling and all my money is going to buy the car..been out of work for about 2 weeks now with no check due to my knee and all im gettin is 300 a month from short term disability. thats not even enough to pay my car payment...psshhhh
