I Think once i get the launching down i can get the ET down. This was my first time at the track in a FWD car so i do have some learning to do. Mod are a air intake i built and a 2 1/2in charge pipe i also fab up. Also I would like to thank supermantxz24 for the HP tune. One other thing i forgot to mention is the car had 1/2 a tank of 93 octane when 2 gallons of 108 octane were added.
krispy 01-13-2009, 01:50 PM you had the same problem I had, FWD 1st time at track lol
13.6 @ 105.6 w/ 2.24 60' isn't bad though
whitebalt 01-13-2009, 01:59 PM from what i've seen the ss/tc basic time stock is alround a 13.8.....13.6 with a good driver.....but thats geting a 60ft of like 2.0..2.1.......my truck get like a 1.7 with drags and on slicks like a 1.5.......with a fwd a 2.0 is very nice
supermantxz24 01-13-2009, 02:06 PM good runs its hard to get a good launch in these cars especially when your use to having a rwd car.
SUKXOST 01-13-2009, 02:13 PM I had a 1.90 in my Stage2 SC 2 years ago in Seattle. Could NOT believe it. I normally pulled 1.99-2.12's. Then what did I do with that 1.9 60'?????? I missed 3rd gear bad and still pulled a 13.58 @ 101. I was SO pissed! would have easily been in the 13.4's at maybe 106/7. These TC seem to be pretty common 2.2. Practice will easily get 2.1 or less. With my mods I'm hoping to be sub 2.0 but I need to get to the track at all and get a few passes under my belt.
glhs379 01-13-2009, 02:35 PM so these are times witha cai/piping/HP tuners tune correct?
any dyno numbers?

wow, yea a 1.9 is real good on street tires with a FWD car. My best 60ft. was a 1.4, but that was with my Syclone :twothumbs

:twothumbs Good job!
poppagun 01-13-2009, 02:43 PM that 108 is goin to loose you power unless your tuned for it so u might be better off goin without it.
JP08turbo 01-13-2009, 02:45 PM so these are times witha cai/piping/HP tuners tune correct?

No dyno numbers yet and it may be a week or so more cause my clutch is slipping now:lol:
thehov 01-13-2009, 03:32 PM ooooooooooooooooo San Antonio........ My home town, last time I was at that track I ran my Supra TT, its way out in the boonies.... Nice times.....

widowedeight 01-13-2009, 04:18 PM wow i suck my first/only time at the track in my ss/tc the best i could get was a 2.6 60'.... now i know how to launch my car tho.... hoping for a 2.2 next time and sub 13's like 13.8 hopefully :)
FutureEcotecOwner 01-13-2009, 04:33 PM so these are times witha cai/piping/HP tuners tune correct?

If so I can't wait til he get's his 60' times down, he should be in the 13.2 range with ease, especially with his traps.

yea i had alot of 2.6 60' times my first and only night at the track but i was lucky and got like 10 runs in that night so managed to pull a 2.3 the once, hopefully next time out i can grab a 2.2 and some better trap speeds.

Well that may be true but the car responded fine plus the car had 1/2 a tank of pump gas and only 2 gallons of 108 were put in. So the octane may have been around 96 98.

Either way I think you should just keep running what you're tuned for, or run 93 if you're not tuned yet.
EXsoccer1921 01-13-2009, 05:31 PM man i really want to ge tmy hands on a new turbo balt and see what kind of times i can get.

it is true, octane basically means resistance to ignition. Unless your knocking, which i doubt you are. You effectively make your car slower anything above 93 unless you have a "track" tune. Probably had a minimal effect on your overall ET but still, it is truth

So go buy one, or go become friends with someone who has one and drive it, LOL. I think the fastest stock one so far has gone 13.5, and I really cant see one getting into the 13.3-13.4 range stock.

someone did a 14.0x with an ss/sc. im sure someone will get there eventually might not be posted on .net though

Yeah that's true, but I think it would become very tough to cut a 13.3 or better in a stock SS/TC.

IMO, never gunna happen

I dont think it will either. I think it would be sweet if someone slapped on some DR's and ran a 13.2-13.3 in a stock SS/TC.

i'll do it if someone supplies me the DR's:cool:

Well after i do my clutch i will be putting some drag radials on and try to bring down the 60ft and ET!:twothumbs

what the hell is wrong with your trap speed? only 100 were you on DR's or ridiculous high DA?
oh and 13.2 on stock TC w/ DRs would be easy

no man, it was the last night the track was open, zero track prep, and my 1st time on the 1/4 mile, i wasn't powershifting fast enough either. When the track opens back up i'll be in the mid-high 13's. At the time i was completely stock, and when i go back i will still be using the stock tires.
MARIN007 01-13-2009, 07:18 PM Sweet runs man!

:twothumbswhen u gunna get DR's and break 12's?
batboy 01-13-2009, 07:39 PM Question for those that have ran the 1/4 mile in a SS/TC, are you finishing in third gear?
MARIN007 01-14-2009, 01:18 AM :twothumbswhen u gunna get DR's and break 12's?
LOL, I plan to run bone stock again come this spring. Then get the GM Tune and run/dyno it with the rest of the car still stock. Once I post up all results and the stuff people want to know, then I'll think about further mods.
I don't know if I'll go the drag radial route. It's more likely I'll just get better rubber for the stock wheels.
Question for those that have ran the 1/4 mile in a SS/TC, are you finishing in third gear?
My best runs were finished in 4th, but most of the ones before that were finished at the very top of 3rd.
