View Full Version : CNC Ported Head, OTTP part info ajjaro 01-14-2009, 01:39 AM how much horsepower would a CNC Ported Head, add to a ss/sc with ottp stage 1, cai, 2.7 pulley, exhaust?? EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 01:41 AM 30-40ish. depending on a retune to get the most out of that 2.7, and intake/exhaust ajjaro 01-14-2009, 01:51 AM at the wheels? EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 02:11 AM you'ld be surprised how well our heads like to be ported but since you already have the ottp stage1, 2.7, intake, and catback(guessing) it won't be THAT much. but it will definitely be worth the money. get retuned as well. get all you can out of that 2.7 and intake ajjaro 01-14-2009, 03:13 AM you'ld be surprised how well our heads like to be ported but since you already have the ottp stage1, 2.7, intake, and catback(guessing) it won't be THAT much. but it will definitely be worth the money. get retuned as well. get all you can out of that 2.7 and intake thats what im buying but i havent installed anythign yet, i was thinking i should install my intake, then exhaust, then headers, everythign else should come after right? 1badBlueberrySC 01-14-2009, 03:15 AM You'll pick up quite a bit... depending on the aggressivness of your tune, and such! I would imagine 20-40 depending on valve, spring, and cam options! ajjaro 01-14-2009, 03:20 AM sorry im new to tuning, what does valve spring and cam options do for the car, are they necessary? is it necessary to change my clutch if ill be pushing 300+ whp? EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 03:23 AM clutch is not necessary to change. but recomended if you ever plan on going to the track. valvesprings/valves are going to be able to hold a higher rev limit. cams will alow a higher lift/duration of those valves to allow more clean are to enter the cylinder, and more "dirty" air to leave the cylinder after combustion ajjaro 01-14-2009, 03:25 AM im gonna set the rev limit to 7000, i want to keep my car reliable. EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 03:31 AM 7000 is very reliable with a fully built head. i would probably set my limit at about 7300 and shit about 7000 ajjaro 01-14-2009, 03:36 AM 7000 is very reliable with a fully built head. i would probably set my limit at about 7300 and shit about 7000 a fully built head, im not so sure what that means... can you explain? EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 03:38 AM upgraded everything pretty much ajjaro 01-14-2009, 03:42 AM i dont think im gonna do that, ill start off with: 1. injen intake 2.mandrel exhaust 3" (borla muffler) 3. cnc ported head 4.ottp stage 1 (2.7 pulley) 5. ingalls torque dampener EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 03:49 AM i wouldn't get the stage1 if youre gonna go right to a 2.7, i mean their tune is for the 2.8. and especially if youre getting an intake and ported head, youre gonna need another tune right away. and btw, when i said "upgraded everything pretty much" i was refering to that as being a fully built head ajjaro 01-14-2009, 03:54 AM whats the power difference between a tuned 2.7 and a tuned 2.8? EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 03:57 AM well its not much really. its just the fact that the stage1 from ottp is tuned for a 2.8 and really no other mods. youre going to have a 2.7, intake, exhaust, and ported head. ajjaro 01-14-2009, 04:04 AM how should i go about getting a tune for that, how much would it cost? EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 04:09 AM find someone around your area that has hpt and is good at it lol ajjaro 01-14-2009, 04:11 AM whats hpt lol? sorry for all the newb questions Area47 01-14-2009, 04:12 AM to be perfectly honest. you need to do some more research into your project. there is a lot of catch 22's with the lsj that people over look a lot EXsoccer1921 01-14-2009, 04:25 AM to be perfectly honest. you need to do some more research into your project. there is a lot of catch 22's with the lsj that people over look a lot i'm just helping him cover the basics before he starts pming you with questions that would other wise waste your time hahaha |
