Yup!! i'm tarded

so traded a guy my trunk for a wingless carbon fiber trunk, almost done with everything and aligning the trunk to sit right to sit well, i got in a hurry and shut the trunk w/o hookin up the locks or lights or anything, come on it was below freezing, 10 at night, couldn't feel my toes, and i had already been out there for an hour, i was in a hurry lol. i don't use the trunk alot and theres nothing to important in there but i'd still like to get it open. any ideas on this? i was thinkng maybe i could pull the back seat back a little when i do theres enough room to get my arm in and get something long to pull the cable to let the backseats down still need to try this, any suggestions would be nice. gonna be a dick about it stfu and gtfo i know i'm a dumb ass but it was cold

edit: oh **** almost forgot to put my flamesuit on, alright have at it

You should have an emergency trunk release under the trunk lid......correct? fold the seats down manually by releasing the latches on the back of the seat with a screwdriver and pull the trunk release. If I'm understanding you correctly.

you cant fold the seats down cause you have to unlatch them through the trunk

Yeah thats kinda the down fall in the Cobalts back seat.. you would think you could just pull them down... BUT NOOOOOO!!!

Back on topic.. I say try the arm through the small opening you create.. Cant hurt that much right?

Yes you can. There latches on the back of the seat are held in place by a spring load mechanism. Take a medium size flat bladed screwdriver and pry the latch mechanism (on the back side of the seat) up and back. This will do the same thing as if you where to pull the levers in the trunk. Do it in the morning when your more awake. Am I making sense?

I don't know why GM did that, just thinking about your situation pisses me off, because there should be something in the back seat area to release the seats down.

i don't know about the LT,s but on the SS's, which i don't know why they'ld be different, theres a HUGE black plastic piece to prevent people from doing what you're suggesting

Coupe or Sedan? I would do it from the top of the seat. I have a coupe. I actually had the same problem you did when I swapped trunk lids to put my spoiler on. It took me about 20 mins to release the seat because I cauldnt see what I was doing. Good Luck man.

you know you could always take out the back seat cushion, and then unhook the back rests like you were to take them out. but obviously they'ld still be attached at the top, but i bet there would be enough leverage to move them around to get something to unhook..............wtf am i talking about

The plastic piece the guy is talking about is the big piece that covers the rears speakers. It's huge, but you can get around it. The next time you come up here let me know. ttyl
