Weird sound when I hit speed bumps

So everytime I hit a bump my car makes like a nasty strut or shock sound, it kinda has me worried but I mean the cars brand new so friday im taking it to get the first oil change and it checked out. Does anyone have a idea of what it is? it does it worse when I just get into the car and let it warm up...and take off it freezing outside also maybe that has something to do with it?

my 05 does this also. only when its really cold. it sounds like when you open a creaky door real slow. once i go over speed bumps and i start to actually drive the car it stops, im thinking the suspension is just real cold. im not sure.

Yep cold weather. My old LS did this and so does the SS. Sounds like crap because the car is new but not much you can do about it.

My car does it too. It has been about -30 with a nice windchill the last couple of days and when I start driving for the first km or so, my car is so stiff and creeks everywhere. The tires feel like they have flat spots in them. Its great. Nothing to worry about really but u could have it checked out.

welcome to the club!

It's "normal", relatively speaking....

Just keep telling yourslef this $22K car does 0-60 in 5.7, pulls 0.9+ g and did Nurburgring in 8'23". It will make the pain go away....

X2, mine doesnt do that and im lowered.

Though I have heard of the cold weather contributing to creaking noises in the suspension.

well, mine's been doing it off and on for about 20,000 miles. i've regreased, i've adjusted, i've done just about everything short of replacing components. havnt been able to fix the problem, everything seems to be working fine though, couldnt find any signs of damage being done.

Same thing here also. Took it to the dealer, they replace something, got it back, and in the cold it does the same thing! I guess I will have to live with it. Oh well!

does it do it all the time when u hit an pot hole and speed bumps only? because our's did the same thing and my bf thought the whole strut was gone on the front drivers side later to find out it was the sway bar link on the front suspension

I took mine in a while ago. It was a loud creaking/groaning sound when going over bumps or dips in the road when the suspension was cold.

Dealership greased the strut mount bushing (?) and the sound went away. A few weeks later it was back though.
