hey everyone

i tried posting this in other areas of the site but havent really gotten much back from it.

i drive a 2008 SS TC i live IN Niagara falls and well there like NO shops or places around here and the ones that are cant get wut i want.

orignaly i was looking into gettin the ARK N2 cat back well once again no one can get it so

my question is...if i order just the muffler part and get the piping custom made will i have the same power gain or no

so im thinkin of starting right at the turbo and custom making a 3 inch down pip off the turbo into a high flow cat...im gonna do a res. delete and a high flow greddy muffler...

the hole system will be 3 inch no step downs in piping s

like to hear wut some of your thoughts are and maybe some other ideas and wut not..

what about my first idea of gettin it all custom made...down pip and all i got a quote from a local shop that said they can do it for like 200$ if i buy all the parts myself and all they do is porvide the piping and than they bend it all there and install it...

i cant give you much help there. but im sure someone else around here can. i havent been in tc or really read about the numbers to much cuz it would be wishful thinking that just wouldnt happen.

it does for people in canada ;)

all im jus assuming a 3 inch down pip if its made by hahn...or synapse or even custom 3 inches is 3 inches right i mean there cant be a huge difference like so the gain should be around the same if we really think about it....unless im very very very wrong...lol and yes living in canada sucks when u cant get shit 4 my car haha

too bad none of the other Canadian ss/tc's haven't chimed in yet, but :) i'm more than happy to.

Downpipe, for where u are, get a high flow cat, don't risk BS from the RCMP cause they love to fuk around with tuner car ppl. Now, the downpipe it's really not worth it at all unless u get a tune to go with it. Options for tuning right now really are not a happy thing, modding at all is not gunna be a happy thing.......with the exchange rate between Canada and USA currency your losing money hardcore just to say you've got mods right now. IMO, wait awhile till the CND and USD are much closer together so you don't get raped on the exchange rate. Now, for tuning, IMO, either wait for GM Stage 1 or go with the Clear Image custom tune. Clear Image sends you the electronic unit to read data and program a custom tune for you. As for the exhaust, if u do want the ARK, yes u absolutely can, an exhaust shop could chop off the flanges and weld the exhaust on.......it's a bit of extra work but if u want that exhaust that's the way to do it. OR, any good exhaust shop locally can make u a custom 3inch exhaust for under $500 I would hope. Last option, you can go with a muffler delete and have it replaced with straight pipe, several members on here have done that with their ss/tc's and LOVE it, including me :)

Here is some rough video clips, I plan to take better ones sometime soon so ppl can get a better idea of how good it sounds.

Also, if you haven't done this for your charge piping yet, get it done ASAP!!!!

if you plan on keeping your warranty, you may want to talk to your dealership you do business with 1st... Mine told me, as long as it was catted, you'd be alright... an Offroad pipe, bye-bye warranty...

its why I'm waiting on Hahn's catted down pipe... the extra 2-5whp you gain with no cats as opposed to a high flow cat(if that) isn't worth the warranty getting voided

wow thats for the info guys :) i called the dealership that i got the car from and told them that i wanted to upgrade to all 3 inch piping install hi flow cats, do a res.delete, and a hi flow hi proformance muffler and they told me as long as doin the work does not send a trouble code back to the computer my warranty is still 100% good but if they find a trouble code...than im fucked haha

that is pretty much it.. as long as you have a cat on your car, and it doesn't keep throwing codes, you are alright... sometimes even with a high flow cat, you will throw a low efficiency bank code because the o2s sensors are getting the proper levels... if that is the case, all you have to do is remove the o2 harness and install some spark plug antifoulers(by hollowing out one, screwing the non modified one into the modified one, then screwing the unit into the cat, then plug your harness into the antifoulers)... I had to do that with my GTP, I had a magnaflow highflow cat that kept throwing a code, spent $4 at Autozone on the antifoulters, and no more SES lights:
