Cars being goofy HELP Please

I just ran out to start my car because its about 15°. My door was locked so i had to run back to get my key from the car. When i went to shut it off i pulled the key out and the car was sputtering still. It was like it stalled out it did not sound healthy at all. Normally when you turn the key to off it shuts right off, but it did not even come close to doing this, it was still running then sputtered dead. Its never done that before and its kinda worrying me. Could it be because it was still cold when i shut it off? Or should i take it in the the dealer tomorrow. Ill try it when i get home and see how it is when i shut it off when its warm. But i just figured id ask you guys if its happen to anyone else. Thanks

X2....this is funny...the carburated engines in the past used to be notorious for this. Its just unburned air/fuel mixture in the engine. I think they used to call this "run-on" if I'm not mistaken.

Mine does that... I love it. I just slap the key to START real quick and it keeps cranking till it starts. When my friends are in the car and they see it do that... they are like, "Z0MG! UR car iz a 1337 H4X0r!"

Srsly, my BCM is going in the goddamn river. Perhaps still attached to the car if it doesn't play nice.

yea this is what it sounds like hot spots in the motor still burning left over fuel. Does the car sound like it has huge knock and shakes feels like it's going to jump out of the car. it scared the **** out of me the first time I saw this.

sorry sir, but most new model gms will start for you, or will crank until it will fire..its a luxury, not a problem. and dont worry, your car is fine...everyones car will do the same exact thing in cold weather.... unless you actually let it warm up..

i have no idea what you are talking of, of couse GM cars start off that way its not a luxury, its by signal from the computer not the key itself, but Some Cobalts have a glitch and can start, and you can "turn off" remove the key and the car stays running.

When it's really cold out and I just start my car and move it forward in the driveway my car used to do this. It doesn't anymore...because I don't drive it.
