99% sure you aren't gonna fuck up the paint unless you sit with the buffer in one spot for like five minutes or are using sand instead of polish.
_UnLiMiTeD_ 01-23-2009, 06:04 PM i sure hope u ordered new tires before u kill someone when driving them in the rain

liljone 01-23-2009, 06:33 PM have fun when your swirls come back in two weeks! for $70 you got a glaze that fill's in the swirls.
they came from automated car washes I stoped doing that a wile ago. now I wash it by hand. It better not come back! He used 2 buffers
bumm81890 01-23-2009, 06:45 PM Looks smooth as hell....I really need to get it done to mine but after that branch fell on my car at my ex's and smashed my windshield and dented my hood I just stopped caring
07SSCharged248 01-23-2009, 06:51 PM Can i get a pic of the tires... Idk if its the pic quality or not, but do you have 0 tread left??
liljone 01-23-2009, 07:15 PM Can i get a pic of the tires... Idk if its the pic quality or not, but do you have 0 tread left??
lol I got about 10% tread left im saving for new tires.
yobrigidey 01-23-2009, 08:51 PM Looks good. Hopefully you get a good coat of wax on there. Oh, and make sure you wash with 2 buckets. One for soapy water and one for rinse, it makes a world of difference.
Chad92 01-23-2009, 09:22 PM When I detail cars at work... I'm pretty much in the same attire. lol.

haha, nope. :) I work at a dealership. And it's certainly much colder here right now. And there's snow. -38ºf right now.
And dude (the OP). I wouldn't be surprised if you were on here in a week bitching that your tires popped and you slammed the car down. At least rotate the damn things! That's really really not safe!! :thumbsdown
Look, yeah, it's your car, but for the safety of everyone else out there, if your left front goes and you're meeting someone on a two lane highway, you could cause a serious accident.
08redcobalt 01-23-2009, 09:25 PM The car looks so good! Im glad the overspray came off!

said I'm saving up for tires! You think I like driving with no tread? I'm the one that has to risk my life everyday with these tires everyday till I have enough money saved for 4 new tires!

Trust me they will. It takes longer then 1 hour to properly -remove- swirls. 1 hour to hide them sure.
It would cost you $200+ to remove them properly. Your wash methods might be fine but once the glaze wears off you'll be back to where you were.
Two buffers - big deal. He used a rotary with a glaze, and a orbital to apply a wax. Car wash industry standard - be on the look out for holograms in a couple weeks time.
I know this because I am a detailer.

thx me too. They got it off the window too lol :twothumbs

damn that sucks.

damn that sucks.
Don't get me wrong - the car looks good. This industry revolves around customers who are willing to pay $$$ for proper detailing and defect removal, and then you have the quick express wash and wax customers.
Take a look at this thread:
http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-brag/109164-park-avenue-detailing-infiniti-g35-coupe-aps-tt.html
It's of a G35 I did during the summer - full correction spent about 10 hours on it. There are plenty of my threads on the forum to browse.

liljone 01-23-2009, 09:45 PM looks good! :twothumbs
Switt23 01-23-2009, 10:58 PM I doubt you would be able to damage the paint on the car. Now if your were detailing a mercedes... man do they have soft paint!
D4u2s0t 01-23-2009, 11:03 PM so what's with the slicks
cobaltssoverbooster 01-23-2009, 11:05 PM wonder how much clear he shaved off
if the swirls are good enough you have to use a pretty agressive compound.
i did this for a living to so i know how it goes. 70$ was a great deal if u gots no scratches just one thing for us, look at it under florescent lights or walk around with a small corded or hand held looking at to make sure they are gone. sunlight doesnt show all the scratches especially at sundowns
nice deal man looking sexy again

thx :) dont have a black light that can reach that far.
mike25 01-24-2009, 03:41 PM nice drag slicks
Cobalt08LS 01-24-2009, 11:34 PM lol hand wax at the carwash i work at is 39.99
cheap!
im getting it done in the spring!
blackbolt89 01-25-2009, 01:54 AM are your tires supposed to be slicks? lol (:
Avenger626 01-25-2009, 05:38 PM oh my god those tires are bad, i realize everyone's bringing it up...but thats really really dangerous man.
jar05g 01-25-2009, 05:51 PM Listen to Gtpaul...all you did was spend $70 for a band-aid. Don't get me wrong, your car looks great and you should be happy that it looks good. Like stated above, don't be surprised when you see the swirls come back. By the way, no true paint correction will be done outside in the heat.
hatrickstu 01-25-2009, 05:54 PM direct sunlight pics.
im glad your happy, but im already seeing some bad things (not in the paint itself, but in the execution)
jar05g 01-25-2009, 05:59 PM Go to Autopia.org or detailingbliss.com for more information.
GTPAUL 01-26-2009, 01:34 PM I would put that $70 to a new tires fund.
