Front Strut bar do anything?

I am looking into getting a strut bar for my cobalt, but want to know if it is worth it? I kinda feel like there is mixed feelings. Just trying to find an easy way to improve my car through the twistys for not too much $$.

yes it stiffens up your front end...

you feel more of the car

i had an ARK strut bar but traded it for springs...it made a difference...felt stiffer when taking turns...and it wasnt just me...my wife that dont know **** about cars noticed it was stiffer up front

stiffer up front = more understeer if im not mistaken which is a prob ..which is why ur better off getting a rear sway bar if im not mistaken again

stiff front end will mean you tend to understeer
stiff rear end will mean you tend to oversteer
both is ideal, but id rather understeer than oversteer... its not gradual oversteer, its snap oversteer...kinda dangerous

If you have an FE1 suspension like mrsilent did, a front sway bar upgrade isn't a bad idea, to either the FE3 or FE5

If you're a 2.2 I'd just get le5 or lsj/lnf springs. You'd be amazed the difference you'll feel.

LE5 is an engine code for the 2.4L ecotec.

FE1, FE3, FE5 is for the suspension codes for the LS/LT, SS/Sport, SS/FI respectively.

The FE5 suspension on the TC is different than the SC.

By significant amount.

I've been curious about this as well. Although I'm also going to replace the stock sway bars along with adding a strut bar. (if infact it will help since seeing mixed reactions).

CJ, your ultimate setuo would be:
SS/TC struts
Eibach Sportlines
Progress, or similar 22mm rear sway bar
FE5 Front sway bar.
^That would result in a very fun, great handling car, but would be comfortable for everyday use.

The strut bar just looks pretty,if you really want one, get one from MRZ, they're gorgeous.

ya, well, that will put me back a little more than I am looking. ha. looking at an under 200$ handling upgrade. Thats kinda why i was hoping they did something cause its only like $100.
