Stocks rims turning white?

As of recent my stock Polished Aluminum SS/SC Rims have started like turning to a white chalky color. I have cleaned my car and focused on the rims with different cleaners to try and get this chalky stuff off with no luck. I am not sure if its actually like any sort of grime, or if the polish is having like an "allergic" reaction to something else. I cant provide pictures at this time, but any suggestions?

I have the polished wheels and noticed that they were getting a little dull and used the mothers powerball and aluminum polish and they brightened up again. Not too sure of what to say. What products have you been using on the wheels? Also, how have you been washing them?

I have used Armor All Wheel Cleaner, Black Magic, Meguiars (<- Think that's spelled right). I am also not sure if its just really caked on road salt or calcium chloride. After cleaning the rims it looks ok not great but ok, but when they dry its visible like chalk.

I suggest you look into the quality of the wheel cleaner; Many of them in the market today
content high solvents and through prolonged use of products like these will cause the surface to deteriorate and become dull.

There’s a big misconception that all of the wheel cleaners will stain you wheels, all do in part is true the majority of wheel cleaners will indeed stain and damage your wheels, BUT not with our Turbo Wax Wheel Cleaner and Brightener actually cleans the wheels without acids or other harmful chemicals, some of which can and will cause spotting or peeling of the clear coat on the wheels, our formula works well on plastic wheel coverings as well. If accidentally sprayed on the vehicle finish, just was off, no harm done, our product is PH balance and will not stain clear coats!

I hope this helps
